As as an ADULT, I realize these shows are for entertainment, not a guide on how to act. My children have no interest in these shows so it's a non issue.

It's a damn good thing you and your saint of a wife aren't in charge of the Vchip on my TV.

Yes, my husband joins me in watching on occasion. He also finds them entertaining.

I don't have cable or dish or anything. So if I see it, I have to be at work, stuck. Do you like polling us, by chance? Do you have cable yourself? Do you feel it is a necessary expense?

I love so many of the "guilty pleasure" shows...Real Housewives, Rock of Love, LA Ink, Scott Baio, I love NY, etc. The "contestants" make me feel so normal. I cannot keep up with Flavor of Love though. Flav is just too hideous to look at for an hour and those women are..well...too ghettofabulous for me.

That show is a mess and so are the crazy women that would actually have their faces shown on it! But it still doesn't stop me from watching it in utter disbelief. I just don't think I could do it. Getting paid or otherwise. I would vomit everytime he looked at me!! LOL

Having said that, for the record I will say that my infant and my adolescent children have absolutely no interest whatsoever and my husband is horrified by the show and makes fun of me all the time for watching it. At which time I laugh in his face and make fun of HIM for watching ultimate fighting. see, we have a HEALTHY relationship in which we can both express ourselves freely and have fun with our differences. we dont need to lecture each other or take ourselves too seriously.

Yes, and they sometimes have very similar language/babble, so I can see how it would appeal to the infant age-set. And what infant/toddler WOULDN'T want to wear a horned helmet?
