Hi everyone!

Let me start off by saying that I love this community! Everyone here has been extremely nice, and it's been a great source of information.

With that being said.. (WARNING: vent ahead!)

As the day of Kurtis's approval for his EAD draws nearer (or so they say), I can't help but feel frustrated. I've been pretty upbeat about the whole situation, but lately I've been incredibly annoyed and frustated. I just want that darn EAD to arrive in the mail so that Kurtis can get a job and we can start living a normal life together. It sucks living off of one paycheck. It sucks that Kurtis sees how we're struggling and he can't do anything about it because the government says so, which in turn, gets him frustrated. It sucks that we go out to the mailbox every day hoping and praying that his EAD is there, only to have our hopes smashed. Everything about this waiting period SUCKS and worst of all, we can't do anything about it.

Is anyone in the same boat? Anyone want to vent? I'm all ears.

Just keep in mind that there are people out there that have been waiting for their green card for 2 years or more, not counting the 3+ EAD cards that have had to pay in the process. You just applied on late January, and it's been just 2 months of waiting. Cool down and relax at least you are with your spouse and not far away from each other anymore.

Mine took 3 months to arrive and we didn't even worry, give time to time.

I totally hear you! We haven't even filed our AOS & EAD yet, cuz we're waiting on getting paperwork together, but it's tough with only one income!!! I know that once we get our paperwork sent in, then we will be anxious to get our EAD as well ! Did you have any problem qualifying for support with only one income? I hope I don't run into that... Will be SO much easier once we have a double income and things are normal!

Hang in there... at least it's on it's way!

Yes, it can be frustrating. All the more reason for people to check out the different visa's they can apply for when they first think about getting married eh? This is all moot now because he's here now, and it does take time. I hope you hear something very soon!

Your frustration and anxiety is felt by many, and I, being one of them, empathize - - completely. Days felt like months, waiting for that blasted plastic. If you look at my timeline, I filed for EAD June of 2007. From the date of my NOA on the receipt of the EAD, it took 76 days for approval. When I filed, itwas just at the cusp of the whole deluge of applications that followed in the summer of 2007. Although the INA compels the Service to provide the immigrant with an EAD no more than 90 days after the first NOA, the back log has really made things worse.

It will come, and, as the Service suggests, if you do not receive word, or delivery of the EAD more than 90 days past from your NOA, you should immediately call customer service.

And I know the feeling of checking the mail box everyday hoping and hoping. It's only natural. Hang on, and it will come. Also, I know its not helpful to suggest this (as it was suggested to me, and I still ignored it (even though that person was right)), but, try not to get your hopes up when checking the mail everyday. It will only make the day go from bad to worse. Just think of it, that it hasn't arrived when you go to check. That way, you won't pin the rest of your night (and the morning after) to utter disappointment when it doesn't get there. It took more than SIX months to get an interview notice since my EAD. I thought it would never come. I just gave up being all excited checking the mail; it was too emotionally draining only to check that it wasn't there. So, I just checked the mail without even thinking of it. Then, life got much easier. I wasn't anxious to check, I wasn't hoping it was there and I wasn't sad when it WASN'T there. So, unattachment really works.
