Exactly how much housework does a husband create?

If your wife is a stay at home mom then shouldn't she be the one cleaning? I try to help my wife but she always says that I worked hard all day and it is her job to keep the house clean.

I would say that depends on the number and the age of the kids. It's not so easy to keep the house clean, plan menus, shop and cook when you have a bunch of little ones that need entertaining and supervising.

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

I don't think the one that doesn't work has to be the one who does all the cleaning, not as an obligation, but it's nice if they do the cleaning, cuz I don't think that's fair that the one who works have to do the cleaning while the other one stays home doing nothing, specially if the one who doesn't work chose not to work. If they're unemployed or can't work, then it's another matter.

my hubby is messy... :P I even put a laundry bucket downstairs to put his dirty clothes in because he always like to take off his pants when he gets home from work etc... but the pants still don't make it into the bucket all the time :P

and i just love it when he cooks but I am the one who prepares everything :P .. likes yesterday we ad pizza, I chopped everything up and I assembled the pizzas, the only thing hubby did was throw them on the BBQ for a few minutes and take them off and then he said, see I cooked dinner :P

:PYou get two people together who have no interest in doing anything, and you're bound to save money.

yard work has to count, right?

she was trying to give us a hard time because we're home people. The important thing is that we have the same interest in things we do.

We don't see a reason to eat out every week if I can cook meals that we both believe are worth more money than many meals we buy in restaurants.

We prefer to have hundreds of dvd we can watch again than paying to go to a movie theater.

We can do things together at home that doesn't require money and be happy with that.

I'm not giving you a hard time about being "home people." I think you usually sound pretty sarcastic when you talk about not doing anything but going to work, watching movies and TV and cleaning. It was my way of saying "I'm sure you do SOMETHING. Your life can't be THAT dull, even in Kansas." :)

My grandmother was horrified when I told her that I usually do the dinner dishes the day after, in order to make room in the sink for the new dirty dishes.

LOL that sounds like me

I hate washing dishes so much!! It would drive my mom crazy when she came over to see dirty dishes here.

I do the majority of the housework, but i do expect some help from Gary. He will cook some, do dishes and laundry. We both take care of the outside.

The only thing my husband refuses to do is laundry - I am not sure what the aversion is because with the automatic washer and drier it's not really a chore. Still, if he'll clean the toilet instead - which he will - I am not about to start complaining :P

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

your cooking is far better than any restaurant :luv:

and i don't think we can do some of the things we like in public anyways.

When I was single my house would be a pretty typical bachelor home. I would do dishes and laundry when I ran out of clean and dusting was a seasonal chore. Vacuuming only happened when something got spilled. Things have changed pretty drastically now that Luz is here. She is a very clean person. But since she wasn't working I wasn't ALLOWED to do house work. She would even get mad if I tried. I do try to pick up after myself and now that she is also working my sense of fair play will compel me to do more. I am sure she will still tell me to take it easy and let her and Robin do it but I will at least make the attempt. The yard work is something else. Robin LOVES to mow. He even does it when I haven't told him to. He got out every time it snowed and shoveled the drive way. It's amazing to watch. Luz can't wait to start digging in the dirt and planting stuff. I guess my only job will be bush and tree trimming.
