When the VISA is issued, you have 6 months to enter the US. Once you enter the US, you have 90 days to marry!

K-1 is valid for 6 months after it is issued, you have that long to enter the country. After entry you have 90 days to marry. So you have about 9 months MAX to enter and then marry.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

Does it affect you in any negative way if you wait til like the 3rd or 4th month (of the six months after visa is issued) to enter US? ...and does it affect you if you wait til 2nd or 3rd month (of 3 months you have) to get married?

Please help! We were guna wait a little bit ($$$ issues) and I don't want to push the time limit if I shouldn't and mess up anything!

Thanks

won't affect anything... if you enter within 6 months and marry within 3 you are fulfilling the requirements of the K-1 visa... Entering as soon as possible and marrying as soon as possible means you can adjust status right away thus the sooner your new spouse can get their greencard
