Hello to all...

My name is Linda and my husband Usama and I are about to begin the adventure of bringing him here.

I have spent the last couple of days trying to find my way around the incredible amount of information on this site, and what a blessing to have stubmled across it.

I have smiled and shed a few tears over the stories I have read, and hope that we will be sharing our happy ending in the near future.

My husband and I have been married for a total of 27 days!!! We are starting the I-130 process and are still trying to gather the initial documents to send in.

We are stuck with the Affidavit to prove a bona fide marriage, shesh!! Does anyone have a suggestion as to where I can find a sample? Is there a form or format out there that is exceptable? Does someone have instructions on how to write it? Any help would be appreciated.

Looking forward to making new friends....

Hello Linda,

I don't think there is a set format for an affidavit which speaks to the bona fides of your marriage. However, there are instructions as to what information the affidavit should contain of the person giving it. I had affidavits done by family and friends that attended our wedding and who knew us. The affidavit should contain the full name, address, date & place of birth of the person as well as their relationship to you. The rest of the information will be about how they see your relationship and that is not generic. As an added measure, I attached a certified copy of the persons photo ID (not required, just what I did). Hope this helps!
