Hello.

I think the time it takes for an application to be approved from the time it was assigned to an adjucator depends on various factors. However, could you please tell me how long it took for your application from your experience? Since we filed our I-129F with CSC, info on CSC is greatly appreciated.

Our application seemed to have been assigned to an adjucator on March 25, 2007. We are reaching our 180-day period in less than a week. So, we am wondering how long the wait will be till we hear something from CSC...

I am sorry if my question above is not clear.

Thanks a lot for your help.

Hi, in our case it was assigned on January 22, 2008 and got approved on February 06, 2008 but i think it really depends on the person reviewing your file. If the person is fast you might get it in a week or so. And since your case has been assigned more than ten days ago i think you might here something this week. Goodluck and god bless.

Our Timeline:

08/20/07-----Mailed I-129F to CSC

08/21/07-----Recieved at CSC

09/26/07-----NOA1

02/06/08-----Touched (RFE Trick) and approved the same day.

02/07/08-----NOA2 VIA Cris E-mail

02/11/08-----NOA2 Hard Copy Recieved

02/25/08-----Received at NVC

02/27/08-----Left NVC

03/03/08-----Received at Embassy

04/03/08-----Interview! APPROVED!!! YEA YEA YEAH

04/08/08-----VISA In Hand!!!! WOOOO HOOOO!!!

Do you mind me asking what the "RFE trick" means.....I thought we don't really want to get RFE's? Also how do you know when you are assigned to a particular adjuicater? I thought once you get NOA1 that means you have been assigned etc...

Thanks!

Hi there,

We were assigned an officer on February 20th. We got a NOA2 on March 17th. The person who has yours may be full-time, part-time or have 50 other applications that aren't registered with Visa Journey.

I think it's almost harder once you know it's on someone's desk but once you get the NOA2 - which won't be long now - you'll feel a lot more relaxed.

Personally, I don't believe the "RFE trick" works to do anything other than reassure you that your petition isn't lost and I have yet to be convincd otherwise. But that's just me.

The vast majority of filers never know when their case was assigned to an adjudicator and many who think they do, actually don't. They don't call it the misinformation line for nothing.

Ok but how do you "know" you were assigned to an officer? Will it state this or just when you receive NOA1 you can assume you were assigned to someone? And what is this "trick" whether it works or not I may give it a whirl once some other Jan people start getting approvals haha!

NOA1 sent date November 10. I called on March 13 and was told our file was with an adjudicator since March 11 and action is usually within 10 days. I called about April 1 and the agent didn't go beyond his basic computer screen. I called again on April 7 and after hanging up on an agent who was adamant about RFE and who I was actually tempted to ask if she was a voice prompt answering machine, I reached a nice man and was told the file was in the file room and hadn't been to an adjudicator yet. He said he would walk over and get the file out. This stimulated a touch - the first in almost 4 months. Other phone calls did not stimulate a touch. Do you only get a touch when the A file moves? Now what?????????

I will not wait so long in the future. If there is no action after the average 135 days, call often to make sure you get some action. The file has probably been misplaced.

We knew as we had to call up and change our address and while we were on there asked what the case status was. Might have been BS, might not have been. Either way, we got our NOA2 27 days later.

Hello.

Thanks everyone for your replies.

So, it seems to take more than two weeks to receive NOA2 since it is assigned to an officer.

We think we will call them again this week and wait a little bit longer (Our waiting time will reach 180 days... ).

Then, if there is still no action, we might ask help from a congress man or a state senate as some people

suggested under other topics.

Thanks
