So now all politicians are corrupt but Dem politicians are more corrupt because they pretend they are going to do something different but actually continue with the same corruption that the Republicans engage in while the Republicans don't even pretend they aren't going to engage in a continued cycle of corruption?

Also the only difference between the two types of corruption being that Dems support their 'own' and Rep's their 'buddies'?

An interesting argument. So, what exactly is better about Republicans? That they openly engage in corruption and help out their buddies rather than their own?

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

Conservatives don't use feel good slogans?

That's what sets them above Dems?

Conservatives don't seem to beat on about bandwagon bullshit issues then fail to deliver. IE EG Fiscal responsibility 2006.

"Moving America Forward". "A Safer World and More Hopeful America". "Steady leadership in times of change".

Which of these Presidential campaign slogans most aptly describes President Bush's occupancy of the WH?

What, like Straigh Talk Express? True Strenth for America's Future? I'm With Fred? Faith Faimily Freedom?

All see kinda cheesey and hollow to me.

Oh, and is this the mess from 2006? I am not sure I understand that, maybe you could elaborate?

"When the United States sneezes, an economists' proverb says, the rest of the world catches a cold.

Between 1995 and 2005, the United States accounted directly for one-third of global economic expansion, according to the nonprofit Council on Competitiveness. Between 1983 and 2004, soaring U.S. imports added nearly 20 percent of the increase of the world's exports.

"Developing countries accounted for an increasing share of U.S. exports, 32.8 percent in 1985 versus 47.0 percent in 2006," a Congressional Research Service (CRS) report says. "Developing countries accounted for 34.5 percent of U.S. imports in 1985 and 54.7 percent ... in 2006."

Like a rugged four-wheel-drive vehicle crossing rough terrain, the U.S. economy cruised along in the early 2000s, even while hitting some big rocks: a stock market crash, terrorist attacks, wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, corporate accounting scandals, widespread hurricane destruction, surging energy prices, sliding real estate values.

After a mild recession in March-November 2001, the U.S. economy resumed expanding, an average 2.9 percent during 2002-2006, while price inflation, unemployment, and interest rates remained relatively low.

By various measures the United States remains the world's most productive, competitive, and influential large economy. Yet more and more the U.S. economy is itself influenced by dynamic economies overseas. And it faces challenges both at home and abroad."Link

You're joking of course...

I mean what was with that whole "culture of life" stuff a few years ago?

Or the countless soundbites on the Iraq war.

Yes they said they would stay the course and have done so.. :star:

Yes they believe in Culture of life and have stuck by it. :star:

What part of that do you not understand? The don't go promising to eradicate poverty, for example, yet fail to actually deliver like other parties.

What, like Straigh Talk Express? True Strenth for America's Future? I'm With Fred? Faith Faimily Freedom?

And what is we need change. A moronic saying for a fool to follow.

So do we or do we not need change?

If not, then why are you complaining about U.S. cities? Don't you like them the way they are?

since you seem to think this country is so broken I would have thought that message to be tailor-made for people like you

Yes. But change in what? How will this change be implemented? etc

Someone holding up a banner does not equal change. Or maybe voting someone in based on the color of their skin / sex is change..

It's a slogan, not a campaign platform. I would have thought a smart guy like you would have known the difference.

It depends on what you want changed. It's like Obama's campaign slogan. There are some things I like about America and want left alone and there are other things I would like changed. My fear is what they want changed is what I like and visa-versa.
