devilette,

Should make it easy to come up with evidence of having met and evidence of relationship. But surprisingly some people - who look only at the types of evidence routinely suggested by those who have not had such opportunity - find it rather difficult.

I lived in the UK for 2 years(went to college), where i met my fiance. Does it help me at all with the K1 process?

It only means you'll probably have more supporting evidence for the Embassy interview...rent cheques, bills, car insurance etc. Rob lived with me in Ireland and we had to go through the same process as every one else. It doesn't speed it up one little bit...sorry!!

And I was as worried as every body else going in to the interview too ;)

03.04.2009......Posted I-130 to U.S. Embassy

03.04.2009......Ordered Police Certificate for Visa Purposes from Local Garda Office (ordered over the phone)

03.05.2009......I-130 received at Embassy

03.06.2009......Received Police Cert

03.18.2009......I-130 Approved

09.10.2009......Medical Exam

09.23.2009......Embassy receives Notice of Readiness

10.13.2009......Received our interview date

10.29.2009......Successful interview!

11.5.2009........Visa received in post

11.7.2009........All the family flew to the US together :)

12.20.2009......Received Welcome to America letter

12.24.2009......10 year Greencard received in the mail

OH well. Worth a shot anyhow! I did highlight my student visa in my passport so it pops out.

We included a copy of Rob's work authorization and Garda card (kinda like an Irish Green card) in our original petition also

Best of Luck to you

I agree with Yodrak as it should make it easier for you.

Can you show with evidence that you both went to the same college eg?

we didn't go to college together. I was trying to prove I was living there in the UK, is all. I'll just gather more evidence if need be.
