Does Length of relationship prior to K1 filing matter?

Dear All,

After discussing the topic of applying for a K1 visa with friends, I was told that one should have a relationship with the person for at least 2 years. I met mi media naranja a year ago April 07 while doing an internship and I left El Ecuador in June 07. I returned to visit in Nov 07 for one week. Sigh! (L)

I am aware after reading the guidelines, that one must have seen this individual within the past 2 years. However, I have been unable to confirm what the length of a bonafide relationship prior to applying for K1 would be.

Any thoughts? OR can I just go for it?

You have met twice with within a year. Go for it i say. I have met my fiance 4 times within 2 years. Were applying by the end of this month. Good luck.

We had been together for 4 months and had met twice in person before sending in the I-129f. We personally had no problems with the K-1.

My fiancee and i had known each other for 4 months before we filed. We had been together for 2 weeks on a trip. We were approved no problem and she is now here in the USA with me.
