I am at Chennai right now and i have an interview tomorrow at 9 am at the American Consulate of Chennai. I have already submitted all my documents to the VFS office in Hyderabad (wher i stay), including my Medical Reports. However, right now i am not carrying my X-ray (which i had to take during the med examination) with me. I vividly remember the Physician telling me at the time of check up that "i need to carry the X-ray only while going to the US that's it. And that i dont have to carry it with me to the Consulate." But now i am worried! What if the Consulate denies my visa saying that i didn't bring my X-ray?? Is that possible?? I hope not! Please help me!!!

I am not sure if Chennai is different, however, the x-ray can only be read by trained medical personnel - not immigration staff - and the report from the radiologist about your x-ray is already in your medical package. You should not need it at the interview. No one looked at my x-ray - and it has never been required since by anyone in immigration. My new physician here used the x-ray as a 'base' against which to compare x-rays done during my physical check up and that is the only use it has had after I received it. You can keep it for a souvenir but I am confident that you will not need it at the interview - or at the airport. If, on the very off chance someone at the Consulate does want to see it, they will not deny your visa for that reason - they would give you a RFE requesting you to submit the x-ray and would make their decision after they got it. Good luck at the interview.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Right, my husband didn't take his x-rays and they never asked to see them either and as Kathryn said the x-ray can only be read by trained medical personnel - not immigration staff.

Good luck tomorrow! :)
