Computer problem...can anyone help?

Suddenly I can no longer drag and drop files from one folder to another, or one drive to another. I can right-click and then copy and paste, but can't drag. I was able to last night. I have not changed any programs or anything like that, and I've tried doing a system restore twice. I'm running XP. Does anyone have any suggestions?

no way dude. If you have the right hardware 64 bit vista works well.

With regards to the problem. I have never ever heard of that happening. Have you installed anything recently?

I've not had many problems with it - but there are bugs. At least when the system crashes it still looks like its under control.

Scott,

It could be your virtual memory is too full. Control + Alt + Delete to open Task Manager and then click on the 'Processes' tab and stop any background processes that you don't need. For example, if you use iTunes, even when you have it closed, it has a couple of programs running in the background and using up your Virtual Memory.

It's a good idea to see just what processes are running in the background from time to time. There's a way to permanently disable some of them if you know you don't need them.

Well, I feel like a idiot... something was sitting on the end of my keyboard, pressing down the "Escape" key. Drag and Drop works now :blush: Thanks everyone! Steven, one of your links actually led me to the answer, as someone there mentioned checking for a sticking "Escape" key :P

:P Phew... I've gotten accustomed to looking up on message boards for tech issues while at work because my pc at the office runs Vista. I just have few words to say about Vista ....$#%@, %$%#, #@$@#! and @#$!%.
