My hubby is in the US army and we got married a few months ago. In the military when you are married you are entitled to several things that you are not entitled to when you are single like housing allowance, etc. As such, my hubbys monthly/annual income has been/will be increased by a significant amount.

My question is....on the AOS in the line where is asks for "current individual annual income" should he put what he earned last year or should he put what he is expecting to earn for the rest of this year at the new wage level he is getting?

If we work it out we can come up with a ball park, but not exact figure. Is this o.k.?

Also....the figure is going to be a lot higher than the figure that will be posted on his past tax returns for 2007, so do you think it would be wise for us to include the pay stubs for the last 6 months to reflect the higher wage level so they don't send an RFE??

Thanks for the advice!

Current = what is expected to be made this year Can be a ball park figure derived from (Pay Stubs). Past years income has their own lines on the form.

Note: US Military only needs to make 100% povertyline NOT 125%.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

Put what he is currently making, include paystubs and such. But I must say...this part of the journey is well over 6 months out for you. You should just get that I-130 application in as soon as you can...many things change with USCIS and info that you are getting now for the NVC portion of your journey may very well change come your time. I've been on VJ over a year and NVC has changed requirements for JA a few times already.

Hi Marlita,

We want to send in the application ASAP, but I am waiting on one piece of the packet that is in transit from Iraq (where he is now). Also, we called the military line and explained our situation to an agent. Apparently because he is deployed there is a 95% chance that we are going to get the petition expedited and she says once they grant the expedite request it should be done within 5 working days. Hopefully this will cut our time with USCIS down to 30 days or less (including transit time to USCIS and also to NVC).

Of course nothing in life is absolutely guaranteed but we are hoping for the best!

If I've learned anything in this process, it's that nothing is certain in any percentage.

I wish you luck on the journey.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip
