It all depends on where your POE is and the time of day! Our POE was Chicago-Ohare and we landed around 2:30pm. We had a connecting flight at 5pm to KC and by the time we got to our gate, they were already boarding. Personally, I would have at least 3 hours before your connecting flight.

depends on the immigration line. i think i got it around 30-40 mins from the moment i got out of the plane to the immigration, to get my luggage and have it checked by the custom. then check my luggage in again to an easy "drop-off" ...i had 2 hrs and 30 min lay over in sanfran before heading to denver so it was a good amount of time to adjust all the delays and complications... good luck!!! happy trip and God bless!

I'd say it depends. If you're going to a large airport such as Atlanta, New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Dallas etc., your line is definitely going to be longer. If your POE is a smaller airport such as Houston, Minneapolis, Detroit, etc., your line will be shorter.

I always say better safe than sorry. Make sure you have at least 3-4 hours and bring plenty of Sudoku books ;)

EDIT: (for some reason, it won't let me edit my original message, UGH!) Anyways...

What I'm planning to do is fly my fiancee either to Minneapolis or Chicago which are the nearest (main) POEs in the area where I will be. When she gets here, I'll be about 80 miles north of Kansas City (I live in San Antonio except during the summer, I live in northwest Missouri) and will drive to pick her up at the POE so that she will not have to deal with other problems at the airport. I also figure that she will enjoy the scenery, even if it's another 5-6 hours drive :)

Where are you at? Maryville? That would be a nice drive to Minneapolis. It would give your Fiancee a chance to see the Heartland....

That's funny. Actually, I went to college at Northwest, but I'm originally from Bethany; it'd be an easy drive considering I-35 runs through Bethany and would take me straight to Minneapolis :). Yeah, I think it'd be a nice gesture and make things easier for her if I make sure that her POE is where I can drive to pick her up, or if I arrange to fly to her POE even if it's in Dallas, LA, etc.
