Copy of passport and A# on check?

Ugh! There are always more questions. I'll be glad when I have my packet complete. I'm sorry if these questions have been answered previously. I tried to do a search but couldn't find anything.

1. Do I need to copy pages of my wife's passport, and if so, which pages??

2. Someone mentioned writing the A# on the back of the check I send. Is this true?

Thanks.

I just included the the identifying page and passport stamps from both of our passports showing re-entry after a trip for which I also included the tickets and baggage showing we had traveled together. If her passport doesn't provide some sort of evidence to prove the marriage's validity, there isn't a reason to include it. The green card is what is important. I did write my A# on my cheque but on the lower left front over top of what it was for- figured that way it would stand a better chance of getting credited to my account if it got misplaced or something.

Thanks. So it sounds like as long as I have the copy of the green card I really don't need to copy her passport. I didn't read anyplace on the USCIS docs that I need a copy of her passport but I know some people provided that.

I sent a copy of the green card (front and back) and a copy of her info page from the passport - the service center put the copy of the green card on top, followed by the copy of the passport page (followed by the check, and then the I751, my cover letter and the rest) when they sent it back to me for re-filing (I had used an expired I751 form) - so I think they use these to establish the identity of the beneficiary. No harm in sending both. Good Luck

We sent copies of the passport mostly because it shows that her name was changed after marriage and we felt it would help our case.

okay, thanks everyone. She decided to stay with her maiden name since her passport has her maiden name on it. I guess I can just make a copy of her main passport page (the one with her picture) and send that.

Thanks.
