Hello.

I'm spending the entire day today to put the packet together to send. My questions are.. Is it better to put a post it note, or somehow add some description for what each document is.. or at least the ones that may need more of an explanation?

For example, I have a trust that shows she is the main beneficiary. Even though they can figure it out, is it better to put a post it note to say something like "This is my personal trust which shows if I pass then my wife receives everything..." etc??

Also, is there an example of here of a cover letter that I should write to remove conditional status?

Thanks in advance for your help! :)

Somewhere on this site is an example cover letter (check the FAQ's and the Guides).

You can add any details you want them to notice on your cover letter, or you could simply use a highlighter on your documents (they are copies, after all) to point the reader to the most important information.

I personally had way too much stuff in my packet to include the level of detail on my cover sheet. So, I wrote a brief cover sheet explaining what we were applying for, and on page 2 added a detailed list of what was enclosed (like a table of contents).

Good luck!

One example, is I have a document that shows my wife as the primary beneficiary of my IRA. But because her name was not correct and I had to have it changed recently, the document says "This shows your recent change to your beneficiary"... which makes it sound like I may have JUST added her. So I wanted to explain somewhere that there was a misspelling in her name that I wanted corrected. I was thinking of putting a post it note (or writing it)? on the copy of that document. Would this be okay or better to put in the coversheet (harder to explain there I think).

IMHO a post it note on the document is better because it is more helpful to the person reviewing the documents. Off course you want to also have a cover letter that lists everything in your packet but details are best highlighted or explained with a post it.

I used a cover letter with page numbers for the documents attached and a description of what it was e.g.

1. Joint Bank statements - Page 1 - May 2006; Page 2-3 April 07; Page 4 - Jan 08

I wrote the page number on each document e.g. 1 (and circled it) and highlighted the names on the documents to show that it was a joint statement etc.

Good Luck
