Why don't add another " also known name" on your passport, then you don't have to carry your marriage certificate to proof

that the maiden name and the current name are the same person. That is what I have done.

because they no longer allow us Canadians to do a name amendment anymore, I would have to send away for a new passport. I can't just write in my passport that I have a new last name. With the new regulations r/t travel between Canada and the US (and the current resulting backlog in passport applications), I'm not in the mood to do that right now. Besides, I have travelled this way with no problems since I moved here to the US, and it's no big deal for me to carry around the paperwork. This is what I have done. :)

Thanks for sharing me with your information,Cassie.^^

Let me know something new.

For Taiwanese, we just walk in the Bureau of Consular Affairs office and ask for the name amendment.

It will be done within 2 days and free.

Because I had a passport with my madien already, so they stamped and sealed on the second page of the passport where added my married name . If I renew a passport in the future, they will put both names on the front page. But my current one is still good for another 5 years... :star:
