This is my first time posting in this forum so hopefully I'm doing it right. Sorry if I'm not but I'm worried about this and just want a second opinion.

We filed for the removal of conditional status in early March for my husband's card which expired on April 3, 2008 and mailed it to the Nebraska Center as instructed by the USCIS website and I-751 instructions. We sent a cashier's check along with the I-751 and all the supporting evidence as a single packet.

I am concerned because the letter says they received the check, but doesn't mention receiving the rest of the packet. They did extend the card but I assume that is because they got the money. Also at the bottom of the letter is the California Center address. I assume we were transferred but it doesn't say that specifically. It has been a month and we have not received an appointment letter. I am afraid they do not realize they also received the packet and it is on the wrong desk somewhere. Below is exactly what our letter says:

----------------------------------------

Notice Date: 3/10/08----------------------------------------Amount Received 545.00 in the form of: Bank Check Draft

Your conditional resident status is extended for a period of one year during the one-year extension you are authorized employment and travel.

In order to further process your petition, you will be receiving an Application Support Center (ASC) appointment notice with a specific time, date, and location to capture your fingerprints, photo and signature. You MUST wait for your appointment notice before going to the ASC for biometric processing.

NOTE: Conditional resident applicants, including conditional resident dependents residing overseas pursuant to military or government orders, WILL NOT RECEIVE an ASC appointment notice. To complete biometric processing, these applicants must submit the required items on the I-75 form instructions.

If you have not already done so, provide supporting documents to assist USCIS in processing your petition and to establish eligibility to remove the conditional basis of your permanent residence. PLEASE INCLUDE A COPY OF THIS RECEIPT NOTICE WITH ANY SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS YOU SUBMIT. Such evidence may include, but is not limited to, the following items:

- Lease of joint tenancy or joint ownership of assets

- Joint mortgage agreement and/or property deed

- Tax returns

- Birth certificate(s) of any child(ren) born from the marriage

- Joint policies of life, medical, and/or car insurance

Upon your receipt of your ASC appointment notice, you can find the status of your case on-line at www.uscis.gov. To view the status of your case, enter the application number found at the top of the ASC appointment notice. NOTE: The I-751 form type will be listed as "CRI89" under the application type in our case status on-line tool.

----------------------------------------

You will be notified separately about any other cases you filed.

They have received your package - they wouldn't have extended your green card without it. The NOA you received isn't just for the cheque -it is for the whole submission; they wouldn't know what you had submitted without having the actual petition and supporting documents in front of them - a cheque alone would not initiate the NOA letter. Don't worry - they will send you your biometrics letter in good time. At least you have your receipt - those of us who have applied at TSC since mid February don't even have our receipt letter yet - let alone a biometrics letter. Good luck and don't worry - you are fine.

Also, welcome to VJ:-).

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”
