I am an early march 2008 filer and just called USCIS out of curiosity today to feel what the expected approval time is for the I-130. They gave me a number that ruined my weekend. They said on average it takes about 9 months for applications to get approved!:crying:

####### is going on? It means it will take a year from my wifey to get here. I am absolutely shattered to hear this...

This is atrocious...USC's spouses shouldn't be kept apart for this long unless the situation warrants.

To boot, our case is one of the simpler ones that they will receive!

Somebody posts some good news to make my weekend go any better... :(

1.My advise for you not to call USCIS or think about USCIS particuraly if its VSC'''.It can ruin your day , week or year :bonk::bonk::bonk: .you just apply in right way and forget about USCIS.

Always think about good stuff , listen to our stories on VJ forum , your spouses , prepare for one good NVC step ( )and develop Hope fulness and positive thinking....

we never got a single touch and completed uscis in 4.5 mos. Nvc in 2 mos and 1.5 mos to interview date. That is actually real smooth I think. But never saw a touch or even got our case #'s in the mail. Seriously if I did not call regularly I would still be sitting waiting for my first letter from uscis and freaking out! LOL...it is very unorganised IMO. Call Call and call again! I paid all of my bills online at nvc as soon as they generated because they never sent us anything. not even an email.

Sorry about your news. Sadly, USCIS and DOS will treat your application like any other even though you are a citizen. It is always so difficult to be waiting. My father was dying during our Fiancee visa process and I wanted Gustavo to meet my dad; as much as I begged and pleaded with CIS, they wouldn't speed anything up. He died just 6 weeks before Gustavo could come. There really is no mercy for anyone...just be patient and let it happen - someday it will.
