I hate to break it to you but Hillary would most likely do the same thing. If she just pulled everyone out Iraq would collapse and then she would have to deal with the bloodbath that would follow.

That is the big problem - and I think anyone making a promise to withdraw troops in a short-term time frame simply won't be able to keep that promise, if elected.

correct me if i'm wrong. but, isn't that the promise almost all of the dems were making during the senate campaigns?

I think the term is responsible withdrawal. Both democratic candidates will likely work to a withdrawal, within a couple years of taking office.

McCain on the other hand wants to keep troops in place for the long -term future. How he plans to pay for that, I have no idea.

hmm... i thought it was a "timely" or "immediate" withdraw, that sparked the "cut & run" talk from the reps. & the "we're going to fix the economy" promise seems to have been kept too.....at least they all looked good holding hands up on stage... maybe McCain is just being honest???

Withdrawing in 1 or 2 years is cut & run by the standards of some Republicans.

Great job. But Obama himself never said if elected, troops will be there until 2010. Hillary is running out of time. The voters and superdelegates will fire real sniper fires at her when she will have no choice but to drop out.

Another non story from metta. Gotta come up with something of substance some day. Gotta do that quick, too, as your gal is running out of time. ;)

Both Mr. Kahl and a senior Obama campaign adviser reached yesterday said the paper does not represent the campaign's Iraq position.

This story highlights the fact that the "new politics" schtick that Obama has been selling to you guys is just that- an old schtick only this time, mixed with Kool Aid.

You do not see it 'cos you're under "TUI, Talking/Thinking Under the Influence ", the rest of us see how potent this "new" Kool Aid is and how well it works on the credulous! ;)

It's this type of overbearing arrogance that turns people away from everything Hillary. And your double standards: She says something, it's gospel. He says something, it's a schtick mixed with Kool Aid. But you want to be taken seriously.

ETA: What is Hillary's current stance on Iraq? Changes so much, I can't quite keep up. ;)

Hillary is the Maaaaaan!! It's like Hillary give up. Your family has already had their turn. Let someone else out of 300,000,000 have a go. gezz

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

I love the maturity that goes on here, at times. Especially from people who tout their age and experience.

It certainly shows.

Sure does.

Probably - I don't remember offhand.

so wild speculation is your reply? VJ Sheesh.

Jesus - what is with your problem today?

Don't have one. Why are you so quick to jump on all Hillary posts when a. you don't know what you are talking about or b. you can't even vote?

Do you say that stuff to your husband?

We can but wonder

Seriously this is very silly. Yes, we get it, LPR's can't vote. Yet.

So what?
