I just want to know how do i Contact USCIS vermont??is there any RFE line and what I should ask them?? I am just trying to find my case staus since tollfree number Customer service donot give any good info .can any one help please??

If you call the main USCIS number and follow the prompts for an RFE the system will forward you to the service center that is processing your case.

You don't need to have to have received an RFE to call these lines. Unfortunately, it is the only way to easily contact a service center directly. It's probably a good thing that most people outside of VJ don't know this or they'd be flooded with calls.

No you don't HAVE to have an RFE to call these lines. But that is the intended purpose of the line.

An RFE, if answered improperly or in less than a timely manner, can spell a case denial. Do you not think it is important for those individuals who have an RFE to be able to access live voice help? Perhaps more important than for those who DON'T have an RFE to tie up the line?

OK. Thanks for the sermon. If there was another way to get any information about a pending case, we wouldn't have to use the RFE line. Since that isn't the case, I suppose people will have to continue using it.

I wasn't aware that reminding readers of the correct purpose of the line would be 'sermonizing'.

What should we call your position that it's ok to abuse the access granted to those who have a concern beyond their case status?

I did call main number just now ....it does not give option for RFE line ....its getting connected to general customer service ..can any one explain in detail how to contact VERMONT .

Nobody has to call the RFE line. They choose to. Opinions appear to vary on the ethics of doing so when no RFE exists. So be it.

Call the main number. Follow the prompts that ask if you have received a request for additional evidence. Then choose the option for further explanation. It will ask you for your case number and then transfer you to the appropriate service center.

Honestly, you will most likely get the same misinformation, but they do appear to be able to help a bit more when they want to. I called earlier this week and they were able to tell me that my case was sent to NVC last friday. NVC received it yesterday.

Really,not to start trouble,but the only abuse here is USCIS,....if they had a decent system,none of us would be waiting and wondering,after all some of us are still waiting for NOA2 since August and September.Unfortunetly if you call up the service center,you get no good information.it is a joke.People want to know the status of their case,they paid money,they waited patiently.If the RFE line is a way to get the info,we are going to use it.Move the petitions along,and no one would have to use the RFE line......

I don't understand. Did you actually receive a RFE? We did, this March 17th and it included all the info we needed to respond in a proper manner. As far as the deadline to respond, they usually give you 3 months. What's your situation?

Hi all, I had a question in line with the one of this thread, which is why I post it here: we just noted that in one of our G-325A forms, added to our I-130, we accidentally added a date.

Namely for date of previous weddings; we filled it out electronically and a date later than the one on which we filed popped up.. we only saw this now (stupid!);l anyways, on the form, for the question of what the names of previous spouses were, we had already put N/A, since neither of us has been married before. My husband says this won't be a big deal since it's obvious it was a mistake.

With our I-129F, we put a corrected G-325A form. But since Vermont seems to be processing the I-130's faster, I am concerned this might get us an RFE, with all the added delays.

Do you think we should/could call to Vermont directly to already point them to this?
