Hello !

I'm an F1 right now and I'm trying to change my status to permanent resident. I got married last month to a US citizen. I'm trying to go back home in December therefore I'm trying to apply for the green card ASAP.

We both students, so we don't have money for attorney even for the application fees, the only thing we can do is to take a short term loan from the school and pay the fees :(

we couldn't find anybody for the affidative of support since we are broke college students what should we do?? pay somebody and be in debts???? :(

Do you think I have enough time to travel in December if I apply latest MAY 08????

Thank you

You do not need an attorney but you absolutely need a co-sponsor. The co-sponsor is basically swearing to take care of you if you lose your job etc. - so its not as if they are going to be charged anything - that happens only if things don't work out for you and your spouse financially. If you are both students, how are you going to support yourselves? If your parents are supporting you now, why can't they be your co-sponsors? That said, look for a co-sponsor through family or at work or through your social circle - aunts, uncles, boss, friends etc. Good Luck
