Well my fellow VJ friends, some good news and some continued bad news.

The Continued Bad News First - the petition that I mailed to the USCIS - Vermont Service Center On Sept 10, 2007 and received by VSC on Sept 12, 2007 and receipted by Chicago on Dec 28, 2007 and finally came online Feb 24, 2008 has yet to be touched or approved. This deserves a sad & mad face. :( No?

Now the Good News - I travel to Damascus Syria this Sunday to see my wife who is 7 months pregnant. This deserves a smiley face  . Hi Baby ! Daddy's coming home.

I will be spending 3 months in Syria and will not be spending that much time surfing the internet or the VJ boards. Rather I will be making up for time missed with my wife and also absorbing the aurora of Damascus. Fortunately being Eastern Orthodox, we will be able to celebrate Holy Week and Easter together at the Holy Cross Church in Damascus. Eastern Easter this year is celebrated April 27 - Rejoice! For Christ is Risen.

I wish and hope all of our petitions get approved soon and we can get on with our lives. Not long ago someone on this board said our Spouses are our favorite persons in this world. How true…

The USCIS is a huge disappointment and in a sorry state of poor planning and utter chaos. They have no justification in continuing to chime in about how busy they are and how inundated they are with petitions. Yes we understood in the beginning that our timing was bad, however we should be seeing more and more approvals at this time. Especially those of us who submitted in August, September and October.

I may not be able to update my profile when my petition does get approved. But I will be try my best, so we can continue to benchmark the timing of our approvals.

Good Luck To All Of You.

Still Waiting for NAO2...

Let me get this straight...

7 months and still no approval?!!!!

This is ridiculous. I am kind of in the same boat as you. My wife is also pregnant. She isnt as far along as yours. She is only 21 weeks now. Still things would be a lot better if she was able to live here with me and we could have the baby in America.

Anyway, I went and spent two months with my wife recently. It was wonderful. I hope you have a great visit with your wife too.

Take care!

Just out of interest where do you all get the 2-3 months vacation time from? My husband works and has 14 day vacation time. Not a chance that he can ever visit for longer than that :(

My boss loves me.

seriously though. I first went to her telling her I needed to put in my notice because I wanted to go be with my wife.

She didnt want to lose me so she went and talked to her boss and got my time off approved by her manager.

I just got lucky. But now Im still trying to catch up on my bills.

ye yey yey yey yey yey! I finally finally finally got the approval notice!!!! *woot*

*clears head* alright, I'm done... hehe, but seriously! ITs about time. I know that doesn't mean I have a visa yet, but! I'm one step closer, and who knows.... maybe NVC is better than USCIS *cringes* maybe.... We'll see! and Just so everyone who wants to know, I remember this question being asked. I did file for I-129f as well, but it was my I-130 that got approved. I havent received any notice saying they cancelled my I-129f, but, most likly, it got skipped over, if my I-130 got through already.

haha! (i know I say that like it was short, but... after the wait just for the receipt notice, it was....) it got approved in like.... half the time it took to get the receipt notice. Does anyone else find that strange? well, not that I'm complaining, I'm glad its here!

one last thing, since it is my I-130, there was instructions (comprehensive and informative) about how to lessen the time it takes at the NVC... right? James' thingy ma-jig.... if anyone knows what I'm talkin about, please! please! post the link, I would really appreciate it. Thanks so much.
