Are there any fees to be paid day of interview??

I am curious if there are any fees to be paid the day of the interview for the K-1? Does anyone know? and if there are fees to be paid, what do they accept? e.i.: cash, check, money order, credit card, debit???

I think it was $170 US

Did the fee go up? When I got my K3 it was $100 USD, cash only.

It should probably say somewhere in your interview package what the fee is. I think both consulates only take US cash for it though.

Yes, there is a fee; yes, it did go up the same time as all of the other fees went up, but I think it is less than $170- I thought it was around $130. Your package will tell you and will also let you know how you should pay it. When I got my K-1 it was US cash only but that was over 4 years ago now. I have heard that they accept credit cards too.

And I believe if your going to the Vancouver consulate the fees that you pay has to be deposited into a certain bank????? So your not actually paying the fee at the consulate, you just give themthe slip from the bank!1 Im sure some one else wil chirp in, but the required info is in the packet

Check your interview packet, it depends on where your interview is. Montreal has to be paid the day of, I think you have to bring US funds or can pay with a credit card. For Vancouver the fees have to be deposited into their bank account, the information you need to do that should be in the first packet you received from the consulate. You have to bring the deposit in US funds, or bring like $135 CND (depending on the day) because they'll convert it before depositing it. I'm not sure if it differs by what you're applying for, I think they're all the same. The fee is currently $131 in US funds.

PLEASE NOTE: You must deposit the visa fee to any Scotia Bank in Canada prior to interview. The deposit slip consists of 3 pages. The bank teller will stamp all 3 copies of your receipt and return 2 copies to you to be submitted with the visa applcation. Deposit slips can be printed online at http://amcits.com/deposit.pdf

Thankyou everyone. I knew about the $131USD. which I have completed. I should have been more specific in my new topic question. I meant is there a fee that I do not know about that the Consulate will ask for when I am at my INTERVIEW? Like the day that I am actually in their presence? The very day, April 10th? I was just wondering from those who have had their K-1 interviews and if they had to pay ANY extra then what the packet said.

Nope, you don't pay extra, and you only pay at the Interview if you're interviewing in Montreal, which I can see that you're not. There's nothing to worry about! Breathe, relax, and everything's going to be just fine!
