ohhh ok!! 221g is means by AR also?? how long it may take if you have 221g documents verification? is the any ways to do to make processing of visa?

You're correct, 221g is AR and it could take 4-6 mos. (or sometimes even longer) before you can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. All it takes is following up about your case and making sure that they have not forgotten about you.

Good luck!

Oh why did the consul told you to re-new first your passport before he can give you a visa? Is your passport almost expired at the time you have your interview? What I know is our passports should at least have 6 months validity prior its expiration date.

i think you got an AR too. i had my interview last march 12. and i received the same papers that you got. The consul told me to Re-new my passport so he can stamped my visa there. So in window 37 i got my passport.and give a white form telling me to submit my new passport.i went backed in US embassy manila last March 26 to submit it. and after 7 working days of waiting i received my visa today april 4.after 2 weeks you'll here something from them that's what i heared inside the immigration unit at the USEM.they'll send you a notice.what to submit to them.hope you'll hear something soon.Goodluck

Hi Everyone! We just had our interview today.... We received two pieces of paper. One with pink slip attached to the appointment letter and the other one is a white piece of paper that says..... What to do Next... On that paper they marked WAIT until you hear form us: we must review your case before it can be processed further. Please wait for a letter form us telling you when you can return to the Embassy with the documents marked above for another appointment...

Does the white paper mean that we are under AR? Please help.. We went ahead and paid the visa delivery.

Thank you

I filed a K1 sometime back and the girl received the 221g, it was a year before they gave her a second interview. I send email, letters, called and all they would say is it is under review.

Good Luck.

Couples that got the AR, can you shed any light where you may have been lacking (evidence a little weak ) ?? Or maybe simular situations ? Applied for visa before with another ?

Maybe this AR is just random or a Russian rulette thing that they do ? (like a quota ).

Just got a little more nervous reading about a one years wait for AR.

Right now, my best guess is that dang document verification...

Back when it's not part of applying for visa, I know at least three of the reasons why the applicant is put on AR

1. lacking of pertinent documents (both applicant and petitioner's part)

2. the petitioner's income is below 125% Poverty Guidelines and needs to have a co-sponsor

3. medical problems

There are more but these are the three common reasons back in the old days.

Hi Everyone. Thank you for all your reply. I'm here in the Philippines with my fiance. I went with him to the interview. I can't remember which window but it's all the way on the back. The pre screener interview was harsh. She was mean. But the consulate was very nice. I do hope we get our visa soon so that we can go home together. Please pray for us.

Thank you.

hello Pinaylang,

i had AR during my interview way back jan 06, they gave me that same white paper and i also paid formthe visa deliever. dont worry so much, in due time you will have your visa. so i received my visa after 3 weeks, sometimes what happend is they have that random checking. they didnt asked for any additional documents or anything, they are just checking with our records (CENOMAR) from CENSUS.

there are some that were already checked ahead of time before the interview date, for us who got lucky we have to wait, but dont worry your visa will arrive soon. all you have to do is to enjoy your stay there in the Philippines, becuase you will surely miss everything..specially the food :)

just keep on praying and "trust everything to GOD", everything happens for a reason......

It appears you have been put on AR for document verification. If no documents are checked and the form reads MNL-IV-22 in the bottom left corner, you are most assuredly on doc verification. So far the average on Vj has been about 4 weeks with a range of 2 wewks to 9 weeks. The good thing is nobody has reported being denied because of doc verification.

As for form 221g, the MNL-IV-22 form mentions the 221 (g) Section near the top. The 221g form commonly referred to on VJ is a denial of the visa where your petition is being returned to the USCIS. Two very different documents.
