Hi I am John, screen name sooner56. I am just embarking on this fiancee visa journey and would like to ask you a few questions if I may. first I cannot figure out how to post on this to be able to just throw a question out to the forum. So that is why I chose you because you have seem to have conquered the visa conquest. My eventual fiancee resides in Brazil and I reside in Dallas. I went to visit her for the first time las t week but have been talking via phone for over the past year.So what I want to know is would it be better to hire a lawyer to some kind of service to put all of the paperwork together or can I safely do it myself without any unnecessary delays? As you are well aware of, I want to get this done and bring her here to marry her as expeditiously as humanly possible While remembering I am working with the US government. Thank you for your time.

John,

I know you directed this to someone else, but you really don't need a lawyer unless you have a COMPLEX cause. Filing the I-129 is not complicated at all, in fact, it's rather simple. My best advice is stay on Visa Journey and you will be directed along the way. You'll get great advice and shoulder to lean on for SUPPORT (trust me you'll n The hardest part about the immigration process is the WAIT time. From reading your post you seem like a calm individual, so you'll do fine.

....when it hurts to look back and you're scared to look ahead LOOK beside you and I'll be there.....

There comes a point in your life when you realize who matters, who never did, who won't anymore... and who always will.

So, don't worry about people from your past, there's a reason why they didn't make it to your future.

John,

First, welcome. You did post this to the whole forum. All you need to do is to click on ADD REPLY and it will post your question to the general forum. Read this tio see the features of this forum: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...p;page=features

This is an AOS forum, you should really be reading and posting in the K-1 forum, it will discuss topics more applicable to your situation. This is the link: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showforum=80

As for the lawyer question... are you fairly intelligent? Can you follow instructions? Are you somewhat organized? Then you DON'T need one. Use the money you would spend (waste) on a lawyer to go visit your woman.

Use the GUIDES here to help you: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...mp;page=k1guide
