Hi VJers,

I am here in Virginia and it is still freezing when you go out. We (me and my daughter) left Manila on March 31, 2008 and had a 6.5 hours lay over in Beijing. I was disappointed of how the China airport handles the transfer of those with conecting flight. Aside from the fact that they gave me a nosebleed, (Chinese staff do not understand english, OMG) I was starved to death because they won't allow us to do an early check in so we can transfer to the new airport. Anyway, overall impression was that they were not considerate and accommodating! So I stop whining here...We arrive Dulles airport at 7:45 (still March 31 - US time) and passed through the immigration. The officer got our handcarried documents, checked them and stamped our passport. Then he put "B" on my custom declaration form so we were instructed to go to admissibility final review. A filipina police handled our papers and then we were given clearance and headed to the carousel to get our bags, which by the way, were already on the floor hehehhehehe. So, all in all my Port of Entry, though one of the top 5 busiest airport in the States, was of nice experience and now I am enjoying my honey. Thank you all VJers, you have been really helpful to me...

Welcome to US! Glad you made it safe and sound!

P.S. I had 2 hrs. layover at Narita, Japan and got frustrated too that they cannot understand English at all. Imagine me trying to explain (or should I say demonstrate) to the store clerk that I wanted to buy some sanitary napkins...
