Okay, people, please get back to your senses (taste buds).

I mean really.

Tim Horton's????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now doing a twelve hour drive to pick up yummy things only available at certain places is quite sane, and I would do it in a heart-beat for Montreal bagels and Pendelli's pizza (also in Montreal). Oh yummmmmmmmmmm...

Bagels here are round bread with holes in 'em.

Leaves a lot to be desired.

As for coffee: I brought a few pounds with me from an organic fair-trade place from Le Plateau (yes yes Montreal again) called Rico's if anyone is nearby.

And thankgodddd I found a similar place in Lincoln Park here in Chi-town. Phew!

Please get your taste buds in gear peops!

(Am I a coffee snob? You betcha!)

:star:

SpiritAlight edits due to extreme lack of typing abilities. :)

You will do foolish things.

Do them with enthusiasm!!

Don't just do something. Sit there.

K1: Flew to the U.S. of A. – January 9th, 2008 (HELLO CHI-TOWN!!! I'm here.)

AOS: Mailed V-Day; received February 15th, 2007 – phew!

I-485 application transferred to CSC – March 12th, 2008

Green card/residency card: email notice of approval – August 28th, 2008 yippeeeee!!!

There are Tims in the States. I have been to the RI ones numerous times, but they do not taste the same. Not sure why I keep going back, lol Guess I hope the "taste" will return!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

I know! What's up with that? I had the shock of my life when I tried them. Finally found a Jewish bagel place about 40 minutes from here so I go there. They have terrible cream cheese, though. It's all whipped stuff. Blech.

Ohhh...Tim's! I'll have a double double. Since you're going to be up there...I'd love a few Wunderbars, too. Hey...I'm only 10.5 hours from Lethbridge. Might be worth the drive! :goofy:

Yeah, the Tims in the States just aren't the same. I think it may be the water. And/or maybe they use different coffee beans.

They use the exact same coffee as in Canada, they actually ship it down from the Tim's warehouses in Ontario.

If you're already in the US, and if you live in the North East or northern Mid-west, (total of 10 states so far) there are over 300 Tim's stores already, and ever expanding. They have a store locator and road trip advisor that you can plan your trip with Tim's stops along the way. http://www.timhortons.com/locator/index.html

divorced - April 2010 moved back to Ontario May 2010 and surrendered green card

PLEASE DO NOT PRIVATE MESSAGE ME OR EMAIL ME. I HAVE NO IDEA ABOUT CURRENT US IMMIGRATION PROCEDURES!!!!!

I talked to the manager at a Tims in RI and he said they use the same Coffee as in Canada, but he wasnt sure about the coffee cream!! in canada its 18%, and he wasnt sure what they used, lol I know the Tims in RI is never busy!! There is a Dunkins right by it. The Dunkins will have a huge car line up, while Tims is empty!!
