I am still dizzy from looking at the background on Gary's prom pic :lol:

Me too!

My mom did my hair like this every single day until I hit Junior High school.

bridget.jpg

Aw, I think this looks really sweet for a little girl.

My mother can't style hair to save her life. Until I was 10 I was sent to school every day with lopsided pigtails and hairgrips shoved (my mother has a bit of a rough touch!) haphazardly in my hair. On the plus side I learnt to style my own hair pretty early on.

This thread RAWKS! I LOVE Gary's flower power picture, all of the 80's "do's", Deliverance, etc... LOL I KNOW I've got better 80's hair pictures than this, but this was when I was about 18, working as a volunteer at a hospital. OI!

Here I am getting my hair done for the prom. :D

Actually, I've been reading a book about American Indians and in certain tribes girls wore their hair like this until they were married.

George Lucas stole the idea.

Anyhoo, this is the only pic of me scanned in. I'm around 5 years old and the hair isn't bad at all. Although my Mum did used to cut it - but she didn't do a bad job really.

You look so cute.

Glorious Massachusetts, of course!

I don't remember exactly where the event was. It was at some function venue south of Boston somewhere. Pembroke, Mass., maybe?

I have no idea what was up w/ the wicker arch.

:D I'm hearing a Boston accent in my head now.

Yah, I asked Sully to come ovah and put up this aaahch fa tha pick-chiz, and he was like, "The aaaahch is gonna look wicked fuckin' stupid."

The Boston accent is truly among the worst American accents. I miss it. I grew up outside Boston and have lived out west for 15 years, so I have a sort of watered-down New England accent. I'm often mistaken for Canadian, oddly, especially in Europe and the UK. Something about the vowels, I guess.

I think our accents ROCK !

Awesome! This is the Charles I will picture from now on.

70s heartthrob mania! ('80, close enough)

This is supposed to the "GALLERY O' Bad Hair". Can the hair tales. Bring out those photos!

True...talk is cheap. I ain't 'fraid.

I vote for #3!

In 1972 Houston, TX for a guy to wear his hair like that was asking for trouble. You had to fight for the right. I mostly wore a ponytail back then. It pissed the rednecks off. The chix liked it though. That's probably why I did it on both counts. Long hair is a real pain to maintain and I prefer short hair now. I ditched the hipster glasses long ago. Soft extended wear contacts is the way to go. ;)

Hey, it's never too late to go back to your '72 look! Judging from your more recent photos, there's plenty of hair to grow out!

Same weight... Same height... Might even have the alligator shirt! People say the only thing that has changed is my hair...

Look at those cheeks! (*pinch*)

This is my little brother. Now, that's a bowl! I guess this would have been about '81 or '82--I can't quite see how many candles are on the cake.

Sully, LOL. I've still never met anyone named Sully. I'm gonna have to move to Southie.

I also escaped the Boston accent, thank God!

How 'bout Fitzy? (I have a cousin who goes by Fitzy--at least he used to)

I like the progression into crankiness as you enter adolescence...

Happy 12-year-old gives way to sulky 14-year-old...
