What's the process for getting JA citizenship/JA passport for children and myself? Since we're going to JA in the summer I'd like to try and get this taken care of during that time.

I don't understand your question? Are you a USC holder Jonesie? Why would you need JAPassPort?

It is my understanding that you have to go to the RGD and register them. They would need US birth papers and passports. Once registered, I think you can just apply for a passport. I think you may have to wait to receive the registration papers before applying for passports. Not sure that can be done in a short period of time.

For you to get a JA passport, I thought there was some rule that you had to live there 6 months. That I am not sure of that one, though.

She is talking about proving they are US citizens to get JA citizenship as well.

Yes. Still lots of hoops to jump through to get it.

I think that is how to do it in JA - the address to submit info to is in Kingston.

Marie, I think the info is at that link.

Your link is correct Sus. This is what you need to know to get a JA passport/citizenship. IT IS NOT EASY. I looked into it alot last year when i was applying for jobs in JA. You have to be living in JA for one to get it and be married to a JA national. You can get residency easier than citizenship...they don't give citezenship out easy..Its basically the same as here in the US. You have to be living here to actually get citizenship. Maybe you meant residency...but then again you need to prove your residency there also.
