Passport Type Pictures

Hi everyone...

During the different stages of the CR1/IR1 Visa Process you have to submit passport type pictures of the beneficiary.

Like when you give in the I-130 you have to send 1 and when you give in the DS-230 you have to include 2.

How many passport pictures are you required to have for other stages like the medical, the police certificates and anything else?

I am going to take pictures today and I want to have an idea of how many copies to order to facilitate the entier process.

I made my husband take 8 pictures all together, when I went down last week to visit him, not including the I-130 one. You need 2 for Ds-230, 4 for medical, and 2 for the interview from my understanding...anyone else who heard different please let me know as well.Thanxs.

Let's not forget that for DS230 the picture size is 2 x 2 inches, but for medical exam is 1,2 x 1,6 inches. At least that's what we're requested in Brasil.

All pictures taken IN Jamaica are good for the US as well. But, those taken in the US do not fall in the JA guidelines. Something to be careful of if you ever need to send back to JA for something.

You need 2 for the police record.

They usually have a little fine print rule that the pictures must be taken within the last 6 months, that is the six months prior to the time you present the pictures.

Timelines vary, but it's possible some of the steps won't be completed within six months.

However, they typically seem to be a little relaxed on this rule, as long as your appearance hasn't changed. If it LOOKS like the pictures could have been taken less than six months ago, they'll usually let it slide. So if you want to make maximum use of your photos, don't make a drastic change to hairstyle, eyeglasses, etc. until you've used up your pictures.
