My fiance will be flying next week from Manila to Atlanta, all on Continental. She flies to Guam. From there, she has the same flight # to Houston though there will be a change of equipment (planes) but not flight # in Tokyo. My question is about POE and immigration. Is her POE Guam of Houston or both? Where do they open the envelope? Also, what happens in Tokyo..any immigration there? This info from somebody that's been this route or any other useful information would be greatly appreciated.

my route was Manila-Tokyo-Detroit-Providence. My point of entry was Detroit and that's where they opened the envelope, did finger scanning and took my picture. In Japan, even if it's just a stop over, all passengers must leave the plane to go through the Japanese customs and go back to their airplane. I know it sounds silly, but the inspectors there will check your hand carry luggage and then they'll let you back your plane. i think everyone that goes through Japan has to do that because that's what i remember the flight attendant of Northwest say when someone asked why we had to deplane.

I just arrived here in Florida last March 28....i have continental also with Guam, Houston and Florida route. In your case, Guam is your POE, tell her not to worry so much because the IMMIGRATION there is easy and there are Filipinos working in the Immigration. All of them are nice actually. I give my passport, Visa, 1-94 {that i ask on the plane},packet or brown envelope....have my fingerprint, took me a picture and the Immigration Officer escorted me to a room and another officer open the packet and ask few questions and stamped my passport. I ask him if i will get my checked baggage but he said i will in Hawaii coz we will gonna change plane in Hawaii.Thats it. Read my posts POE...i shared my experience there.GOODLUCK.

Actually, I don't see how Guam can be POE since the flight is going on to Japan before United States. You can only enter U.S. once on a K-1 so if she enters at Guam and goes to Tokyo then will she be able to enter in Houston?
