But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

I haven't had a cig since yesterday and i am starting to get very restless. I quit for 3 months last year but my fiance got me back smoking again becouse he started when i came to visit him he was nervous. I know this time i really have to quit before he gets here. Almost 5 bucks a pack now i can't afford it no more. Plus you can't smoke on birth control. Please tell more reasons why i need to not smoke. Even pics if necessary.

I'd like to introduce to you two of my very good friends, Jim and Murray, both lifelong smokers. Jim is 43, Murray is 36. Well, they would be, except both of them died last year.

Jim had a stroke three years ago, and was on his way to recovery until they found the lung cancer. He was fortunate, he stroked out again during the resection surgery and died on the operating table.

Murray wasn't so fortunate. They cut out most of his right lung and part of his left. While they had him open, they found the cancer had spread around his throat, and the 3 hour surgery turned into a 10 hour surgery. He went on chemotherapy after that. Soon after that they found another inoperable metastase in his spine. Soon after that, it was in his pancreas, another few weeks they found it in his brain. He died a horrible, painful death last October, leaving his wife and 12 year old daughter behind. Almost a year and a half of chemotherapy, and unbelievable pain from the lung resection left him sick and addicted to morphine.

Both of them kept telling me: "I wish I had never started."

Because I lost my mom at 19 and dad at 23 when I was growing up. Both were smokers and were under 50 yrs old when they passed.

You will get helathier and fitter if you quit and you won't smell like cold smoke anymore.

Stay focused, tell yourself how much money you will save, put 5$ for every pack you would've smoked but didn't in a piggy bank and reward yourself with something great when you have a bunch of money saved.

Good luck to you! You can do it!!

Yes we all need to keep inspired for this non smoking thing. I know I wanting one, but I also know I can resist it that my brain is trying to trick me that I don't actually feel better, BUT I DO, so I keep plugging away and know it will easier and to mention better for me.

Thanks to everyone who was sharing stories here, it helps to know there are many out there that struggle and want to be there to help others.

I for one am not ever going back, I can't let myself slip cause one leads to two (I know this because I quit a year ago and after a couple of months I started with one a week when I was out with the girls, one of course because two and well you know how it goes). Keep it up, and congrats to those of us who have done it, and continue to do it. And a big shout out to those who are hoping to get it done, good luck and I am sure there are many of us here who wil help.
