I haven't had a cig since yesterday and i am starting to get very restless. I quit for 3 months last year but my fiance got me back smoking again becouse he started when i came to visit him he was nervous. I know this time i really have to quit before he gets here. Almost 5 bucks a pack now i can't afford it no more. Plus you can't smoke on birth control. Please tell more reasons why i need to not smoke. Even pics if necessary.

Well you would really stink. I am smoke free for 16 days, and it does get better but you know that. Don't let your mind fool you into smoking again. Keep it up.

I haven't smoked for two years and what got me over the hump was the patch! I did it for about the first three days and haven't wanted a cigarette since  Stay with it!

One good reason I came up with as to why you shouldn't smoke would be... oh yeah DEATH!!!!!!!

You just gotta stop- you don't want to smell like smoke, or like you put too much perfume on to cover up the smoke, you don't want your teeth to get yellow and brown and gross, you don't want your lungs to become black (even if black never goes out of style), and you don't want to spend money to kill yourself!!!

You don't want those things, right?

Yep-The patch is wonderful stuff !

You may be just experiencing a bump in the road. Have faith that you were able to do it before and focus once again.

If you still feel it's stronger than you are right now, go and get the those patches...great stuff and will give you the most vivid dreams you can imagine ! : )

Good Luck !

HELLO!!! I am already the not so proud owner of 2 pugs, one more woudn't make a difference. It would be a plus however if yours knew how to piss outside.....

We should share pugs stories I bet we both have some good ones.

You have to see this website it's this person's journal about owning pugs.. it's pretty hilarious. You'll like it if you have a pug. Enjoy.

I am proud of all of you who have quit.....I am recently quit too....since March 26th. I did it with hypnosis.

Denali, YOU CAN DO THIS!!! You can sock away that money that you would have spent, your clothes and hair won't stink, you won't be killing your body, you will feel wonderful!!!

What keeps me going is the fact that if I started smoking now, all the discomfort of quitting will have been for nothing. I don't wanna lose what I've gained. You need to think that way too!

David read me an article over the phone the other week, I'm going to see if he still has it cos I'll see if it's online so I can post it.

KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!

I need to quit too, it is just so hard to quit right now during this stressful time, it seems it would be easier at least after some of this anxiousness goes away, but there will always be a new reason not to quit i guess

I just want to say

OMG LIL PUGGY DOGS!!!!

We used to have one she was so sweet and completely devoted to my daughter. When my daughter was really little, so young we hadn't yet taken her beloved bottle away, her father would pick her up from daycare and give her a snack, while they waited for me to get home. I would arrive after work to find the two of them, Pugsly and Alyx, side by side in front of the TV, Alyx sharing her bottle and snack with pugsly.

Now for your motivation to continue not to smoke. When talking about what bad things smoking can do to you people generally focus on lung cancer or other respiratory diseases. Those tend to be associated with outside warning signs such as cough that might serve as a red flag and reason to be checked.

I'll tell you my story, because until it happened to me I had never heard of this before, and it might serve to scare you away from them more than that will.

In 1989, 6 months pregnant with my daughter, I woke up one morning and visited the bathroom and was terrified to find it appeared I was hemmoraging from my bladder. We rushed to the ER and first they ensured that the baby was ok, and then performed a cystoscopy on me (very unpleasant). There was a tumor growing in my bladder, I had cancer.

At that time it was concidered a fairly rare form of cancer, and those that were found with it for the most part were men over 40, not 29 year old women. They had seen the tumor on ultrasound, but because of I did not fit that profile they wrote it off as a polyp and never told me. The thing with bladder cancer is there are NO noticable symptoms, most commonly it's discovered as a microscopic amount of blood found while performing a urinalysis for a routine physical or some other problem. Because of this it is often found too late to offer a good prognosis. Looking back at my work physical it was seen there but again..I didn't fit the profile and no one told me.

I consider myself the recipient of a miracle. Most people consider the birth of a child a miracle, mine truely was. My daughter saved my life before she was even born. Had I not been pregnant at the time it might have been too late when the cancer was found. The weight of the baby on my bladder at 6 months pregnant caused the tumor to bleed, which was how it was recognized for what it was.

I am now or will be 14 years clear if I pass my exam in June this year. I have sense found that bladder cancer has been directly tied to either smoking or exposure to specific chemicals while working in rubber or dye industries. I had been smoking since I was 14. My doctor who is fairly well known in his field told me that every female patient he has treated for this was a smoker.

Cancer is scary, it's even scarier when there is absolutely nothing to warn you that you might have a problem until it's too late. Although I've always approched this positively, every year about a week before my annual cystoscopy fear sets in, it can come back at any time and I wouldn't know until the exam, it doesn't matter if I've been clear 5 years...10 years..it's not uncommon for it to return.

Still want to smoke?
