It depends on the Service Center and the type of visa they are requesting.

usually VSC is faster.

But,above all, it's really more about your luck. As i've figured till now, and(believe me) i'm tracking approvals paranoiacly, they're not following the order that the petitions were submitted. They're working on them randomly mostly...

So, good luck, and have faith!

No, it's not random. Here's the deal:

When the service center receives your petition, it is pulled apart and put into a folder in their standard format, and then placed in a box with a bunch of other files that came in at the same time as yours. This box is put in a warehouse. As the adjudicators process files, these boxes are moved up in the queue, until eventually the box that your file was in is taken to an adjudicators desk. Up until this point, your file is processed in the order it was received.

Once at the desk, the adjudicator pulls the forward-most file from the box and begins to work on it. If there's something about the file that temporarily stops them from working on it (such as an RFE) then they set that file aside and start working on another one.

Now, the adjudicator working on your box might be new, slow, or taking the day or week off. They might have training that day, or maybe have to leave early to pick up a sick child. The desk next to your adjudicator might be working on files from a week after yours, and maybe they're faster.

Some adjudicators work from home. They go to work, pick up a box (or more), go home, and process petitions. At the end of the week they bring the completed petitions back.

The end result is that it appears as if files are being processed out of order, when in fact they're being processed in about the most efficient way you can process something by hand.

This is why you get someone who has filed on December 31st approved before somebody on December 1st.

2 months is a long time? hmm....

Try being one of the people still waiting from like 7 months ago.

Be patient...nothing is ever secure in this...just because others have gotten theirs quickly, doesn't mean you will.

Best of luck and patience to you.

I am sure every single person on here remembers that sick empty feeling you felt in your stomach every time you signed on to the USCIS website and saw "Case is Pending"...

Where it's approved in 2 months or 7, the waiting still sucks!

Hang in there! It'll be there sooner or later.

VSC is faster than CSC but after that you have probably another 6 months once it leaves NVC to interview.

check out all the others that are K-1 for China.............I'm just hope for a June interview!

Good Luck
