I was wondering, if and if yes, what changed for you after you recieved your greencard? Did it make any difference versus just having EAD and AP (besides the obvious that you don't have to file for renewal all the time).

I have to say for example, that I feel somewhat more confident talking to people who give me that "a foreigner..ah, okay-look". I can't even say why that is, I mean, I was never illegally in the US so I never had any reason to hide my status or anything. But for some reason, having my greencard in my wallet makes me feel pretty good....but maybe that will wear off after a longer time of having it..LOL

Andre got his green card before he got any of that other stuff, so his answer will be everything changed.

As the question also can be answered for Empolyment-based GC's,....

In my case, I never had EAD or AP due to having my own GC done @ Montreal (consular processing of EB-3).

In Pras' case, she got her AP and EAD one month before the conditional GC--AP unused, EAD used as ID (for state ID, SSN)--so she didn't have to renew the EAD and AP anyway; everything changed, as she now can work, ....

doesn't change anything for me, except the fact I know now how long I'm gonna have to wait to apply for citizenship so I'll be eligible to get better jobs, but that's it.

What changed:

a ) Not having to worry about renewing EAD

b ) No hassles when we departed the Philippines the last time we went for a visit

c ) Getting on the Citizens'/Residents' line at the POE and quick processing at immigration.

08/17/08: Mailed N400 to TSC

08/19/08: USPS attempted delivery

08/20/08: TSC received N400

08/21/08: TSC cashed check

09/02/08: Received NOA...........Priority date: 08/20/08

..............................................Notice date : 08/22/08

09/02/08: Received Biometrics Notification

09/18/08: Biometrics completed - Charlotte DO

10/24/08: Received Interview Letter

12/08/08: Interview @ 1:00pm. APPROVED!

01/05/09: Oath Ceremony 10:00AM. Now officially a USC!!!

I don't know, every time I enter the country the residents/citizens line is way longer than the visitors line!
