Hi, I am new to this site and I am on a k1 visa. I really need help about how the processing of this visa goes, because I am a little lost. My fiance has filed for k1 already and we have received the NOA2. My question is, it has been more than two weeks now since we've received our NOA2, should we call the NVC to check our status? or should we wait till the 4 weeks is over before we follow up our case? I'm told that it takes 2-4 weeks for NVC to receive the papers and then send it to the US embassy.

I hope you can give me some insights on how this works. It will be much appreciated!

timeline:

12/5/07 - filed for K1

2/4/08 - NOA1 received

3/15/08 - NOA2 received

Hi there and congrats on your approval, you can contact the NVC to check if they have recieved your case and whether it has been forwarded to the Embassy, they will give you a new case number, you will need to provide the beneficiarys date of birth to the advisor.

you can call them @ (603)334-0700, 1, then 5. You can't use the automated system to check K1 visas coz they don't load these into their automated system. So make sure you speak with a customer service representative.

It may or may not be with NVC yet since CSC is just slow with everything. They probably wait till a crate is full with approved petition before they ship it off to NVC which could take up 2 or more weeks... but just try. if they still don't have it, just call again the next day.

be ready with your NOA receipt number (USCIS case number), then the beneficiary's full name and birthdate.

Good luck and God speed.

By the way, does anyone have any idea on when is the best time to call the NVC?

They open at 7.30 am and with my time difference I could call them then, but I think early morning is best from my experience. Hope that helps.

Had they received your paperwork yet from USCIS? It's now been 15 days since my NOA2, and the NVC still hasn't received the paperwork from the CSC.

Hi everyone! I would just like to share the good news. We called NVC yesterday and our papers have now been forwarded to US embassy in Manila, Philippines. We now have the MNL case number to track it down. I'm wondering, how long should I wait before I call USEM and schedule for an interview?
