Hey everyone,

I am trying to plot this all out so I have all the paperwork completed, checked and ready to go int in time for the interview and my employers are still working on putting paperwork together. How much time do I have exactly? My girl hasn't received her Packet 3 yet, but when she does how much time does she have to complete it?

Any helpful insights would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Hey Dave :)

Have you called Goverment of State yet asking if the embassy has received your petition?

The number is 202-663-1225. Give them your NVC number.

Press 1 and then 0 right away, the menu is insane.

Even though your petition may have been delivered to Hungary (I don't know if you were tracking it using the DHL or not) it may sit there for awhile.

Mine sat there for over a week before Montreal actually opened it up and "received" it.

When you call GoS, you can also ask when they will be mailing out package 3.

So what happens is, your sweetie will follow the instructions in package 3 and looking at the Hungary Embassy page here on VJ, she would only mail back the DS230 part 1 and the signed check list telling the Embassy that she has all the documents ready.

Since you are mailing the stuff to her from the States (don't know how long it usually takes to get mail to her)....perhaps she should wait until she has all the required documents in hand before mailing back the check list....or....she could chance it and send it back asap.

It's looking like just over a month wait for interviews at her embassy so....she could mail the DS230 and the check list back asap and then you mail off all the documents to her at the same time....it should work out fine.

If you mailed all your info and paperwork now to her, she may receive all your documents before she even gets package 3 so...she would be all set and ready to mail back the DS230 part 1 and the signed completed check list!

:) Good Luck!

Laura to the rescue!!! :D

If its looking like just over a month I will be okay then. I started to freak out because end of April is finals and on top of that I am still working out everything financially.

Phew, sounds like its all good, just like taking a stroll through the park!

Hopefully....

I will check with the GoS, thanks for the references.

No problem!!! :star:

They are open till 5pm EST.

As I said...when you call don't even listen to the menu...it's mind boggling!!! Just press 1 and then 0.

They will ask right away for your NVC number. Tell them and they will tell you what's happening with your case and if Hungary has received it they will tell you when package 3 was sent out! :)

Department of State or DOS is who you'll reach by calling that number. You need an NVC out to P3 timeline for Hungary. Don't use any other country as your guideline.
