I am so shocked by some of the stories I read about how rude US consular staff are (in many different countries).

I am waiting until my husband is well and truly here AND THEN... I intend to write a formal letter of complaint about the mishandling of our case and the no response/rude response to our inquiries at the embassy.

But where to send the letter. To the head of the Department of State???

Nutty I feel you, and ya know I do. Belinda may be on to this, with the whole list of people to write to, you may want to start there. I will do my best to tell people of my consulate country to know what they are going in for. But you know there has been many people who easily fly through the visa process with names like Muhammad, countries like pakistan and its like...wheres the consistency?! That goes back to my post on 221g forum..."AP/AR losing patterns." unless there are thousands of people affected, nothing seems to happen. After all, no matter how much you want to assure yourself, AP is in the MINORITY, just more vocal because we actually have a problem. I know many bangali people from my consulate that flew through their process in about 5 months though most were males bringing females, you hear of those 4/5 cases that have wives stuck for over 7 months. I dunno this inconsistency has taken a toll on me. I feel unstable and uncertain every day of my life, Nutty I suggest you keep your letters and maybe if someone gives a good place to mail them aside from Belinda's list, you can proceed. What happened to the paperwork requested from the embassy, I hope your husband got them.

It is sad when the put people on AP. They should give a specific timeline for that. Mostly they put all male applicants on AP. You have to be patient.

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

NVC Process of I-130:

It took 78 days to complete the NVC process

Interview Process at The U.S. Embassy

Interview took 223 days from the I-130 filing date. Immigrant Visa was issued right after the interview

To be honest, I really dont think it will make a difference. I feel your pain but these people do not care about our lives and that we are separated from our loved ones. I hope that you will be reunited with your husband soon and just try the best to put it behind you once he is here. I wish the best of luck for you both (F)

It isn't so about my case. I understand the issue of AP and that it is deemed necessary. And even a month or two waiting...It is really about asking for the CV AFTER the AP has cleared and the sheer rude response I received from the US Embassy.

There are other stories of where Embassy staff are incredibly rude, not specificying needed information when they issue 221(g) denial. One woman on the board said in her interview they Consulate Officer asked if she was a virgin when getting married, do they condoms...

Are these valid questions??? It sounds like these cross the line to me.

I suggested to Captain Ewok there should be a forum to detail egregious, negative experiences with the DOS. This thread would be not be for asking questions or advice. Only for complaints.

Then send the link to the head of the DOS.

one flaw in that plan - this assumes that individual in charge of dos is computer literate.

Have you gotten the CV done yet?

AP: Over 1 year.

Visa: Nov 2

US Entry: Nov 13, Alhamdulillah.
