i have a question that maybe someone can answer for me?!?! i'm getting together everything before i leave for the UK next weekend to take with me. and about the tax transcripts the ask for, should i go ahead and order the ones off of the IRS site, or would my past 3 year ones from turbo-tax online (with the full documents) work? really don't want to mess anything up being this far thats for sure! i've gotten mixed answers and didn't know if anyone else was in the same boat. it takes about a week to get them from the IRS so i don't know if i'd have them before i left anyways. but i'd rather be safe then sorry i guess. thanks, megan

Megan, each Consulate is different in what they require. Do you know what they are asking you for? It's usually just one year's tax return now for most (used to be 3). The transcripts are just one page so it's easier to read but I think you'll be fine with your 1040 too. Maybe you should order them (since they're free anyway) and contact the Consulate via email to see what exactly they want. That's what I did mainly because i'm self-employed...own rental property...etc... and I was unsure of exactly what they wanted to see. I found out that NZ is just as concerned with Russ's ability to support himself...made sense but it was different from anything I had heard here! I'd order the transcripts... and if they dont arrive before you leave you can take the 1040's. :)

It's getting very exciting for you guys. i'm happy for you! Have a safe trip and don't forget to put those legs up when you can so your ankles dont look like watermellons!

good idea hon! ;) I'm very happy for you!!!

We've been apart more than 10 months now... *sniff* ...and yes, it is the hardest part of the whole thing! When you're so used to constant hugs and kisses and touching for a couple of years and then it just goes away... well, I don't need to tell you. ;) I hope your reunion is as beautiful as you imagine and that he'll be back home soon after!

Megan ~ I ordered my tax transcripts already, and they came in less than a week, it was super fast. You could even probably have your mom fax them over internationally if worse came to worse, I've read that people have done that.

I figured I'd do it just to have them, I can't find my W2s from 2006 or 2005, and Perú requires that I think so I don't know what I'm going to do about that though. My other problem is that I didn't make enough money last year, but this year I make way over the poverty limit, so I'm not sure how that will work. My boss will write me a letter, most definetely, and I'm going to photocopy my paystubs, but I don't exactly have anyone who is willing to or who can co-sponsor.

So we'll see. I think it should be OK, I've got my fingers crossed.

Have fun in the UK, I've always wanted to go there!!!

The only 2 countries I've been to out of the country are Perú, and Puerto Rico but it doesn't count b/c it's a US possession.

Sadly I had to cancel a trip this summer to go to Puerto Rico to visit the family, bc I'm not going to have enough $$ with everything with the visa. That kinda stinks b/c I go every summer.

Kim ~ Is next week our week? I remember all the drinks we all promised each other when the forum had just started! I'm still down for it! haha

Suzy, I do think this is our week! ;) I wouldn't worry so much about your affidavit. They will care about you're making NOW. Can you get the W2's from whomever prepared your taxes? I dont know why the transcripts wouldn't be enough. Everyone I've seen here that goes through Peru has a pretty easy time of it and a very quick interview date. Hope that holds true for you! :) I am SOOOO UP for a drink ...or 4... when this is done with!

I found out just yesterday that my ex husband (whom I filed with in 2006) never sent the documents into the IRS therefore my returns from this year are delayed and I could lose much of it. Our tax guy has always done it so that's probably where the mistake happened but still.... :ranting: I also had a physical yesterday and my blood pressure was very high.... it's never been high before. :( I go back in two weeks so i'm hoping it was just a fluke but ... I sure could use some good news soon! :)

thanks suzy! i went ahead and ordered them. doesnt hurt i guess, and they're free unlike everything else lol. yea, we needed a co-sponsor because i didnt make enough because of being in school for the past however many years. so my step dad was more then willing to help with anything and everything we needed. thank goodness!

kim, hopefully everything will be fine and your BP will be back to normal! we'll keep you guys updated while i'm there also. i have my next doctors appointment on monday and another ultrasound on thursday...can't wait to see the little one!!! and i'll be able to take the pictures for the soon to be daddy to see! sending them via email isn't quite the same!

Just a quick greeting to you all... Michael got here on Wednesday morning, and we're enjoying each other's company after a long three months apart. He'll fly back to the US on August 6. I really hope we'll get our approval in the meantime, since my own situation has got worse, and I really need to know something about my future. Seeing all those April approvals hasn't done a lot to make us feel better, but I suppose we can't do anything else but wait... To the rest of you, have a great Sunday, and here's to next week!

A.C. Thank you so much for your kind words. I appreciate it very much. Here's hoping for 100 approvals this week! :)

There you are Raff, I figured you were enjoying your time together! So happy you have that right now! It's been far too long for us too. :( They are still working on approvals from your sent date so I have to believe it's coming soon... I hope so. I check every day for you as well. Sorry to hear your situation has become more difficult. Stay strong!

Good Sunday morning April... i'm up way too early for a Sunday, I know. No sense in lying there wide awake when there is work to be done! Many of you might not know this but about 10 years ago I lost close to 200 pounds. Getting2Goal. Anyway, my diet this past year or two has left somthing to be desired and i'm certainly not exercising as I know I need to..and with my blood pressure skyrocketing the other day... yeah...not good. So yesterday I began tracking my food again and had a really great work out that helped my spirit tremendously. Even if you don't work out regularly.... a nice long walk right aside mr. perspective can do the soul wonders. :)

Have a great day! Tomorrow is the day for many of us!
