It's really disheartening to see VSC having slowed down so much since January! I hope it picks up pace again soon for all of you who are still waiting.

Kim - congratulations on becoming an organizer! I did wonder if you'd be made one as you've been so helpful in so many threads. :)

Good Morning Aprilers!

I love music too, I like almost everything from rap to rock to salsa etc. I am an itunes / limewire addict too. LOL

I watched MTV for the first time in like years the other and was surprised to find that there are like NO music videos, just dumb shows. What's that about? Geez.

I went to a wedding last night & am severly hung over. hahaha... open bar

How's everybody doing? Still no news for me but I know it's coming! :star:

Argh its taking so long!

You know what annoys me? How naive we were when we first started this whole thing- we had NO idea, and thought, 'shouldnt we wait until you back to the states to submit the paperwork?' and did just that, and once we started understanding how long this would take and the whole process we realized we could have submitted it all LAST year when he spent 8 months with me, and spent these months you have to wait TOGETHER and not have had to be apart so long! :'( oh well, perhaps we are learning lessons while apart that will help us to be together for the long haul eh? And Im making British pounds so thats going to be great for the states :) Trying to stay positive here lol....

Missing someone gets easier everyday because even though you are one day further from the last time you saw them, you are one day closer to the next time you will.

Thank you Rachel. It makes me feel good that in educating myself so much, I can help others through this.

Yeah, suzy.. mtv has had it's time. Glad you had a good time last night. ooooo open bar! ;)

Oooo Gaura, I hear you!! If only my ex woulda signed those darn papers 3 years ago...or even just a few months earlier... we were living together for a year and a half and early on we planned on just marrying as soon as my divorce was final. Then he was denied entry...then I started reading. Last year the petitions were taking 6+ months from NOA1 to NOA2 because of the backlog and then in January they were being approved in less than a month. What a roller-coaster it's been!

I have a few regrets, which i'm not so good with, but I keep my focus on moving ahead and not looking back. The process has surely made us stronger and I have a feeling that once that approval comes ...the rest of it will just pale incomparison. ;)

Michael and I had a similar problem with his divorce. Being a resident of North Carolina when he was married, he had to be separated for one year before filing - which he did from his new residence in Northern Virginia, Fairfax County. Well, it seemed they were backlogged too, so it took almost 5 months for the divorce to be final. Then we filed, lost those nearly two months, and here we are, waiting again... At this point, I really hope to make it to the US before Xmas. The positive side of all this is that I'm working and earning money, and also earning vacation days, which I'm going to use before I move to do all I will have to do.

Good morning April friends. :)

It's really good to see VSC still moving... allbeit a creep along... it's moving! ;)

I'm always so interested to hear the stories about how people met and the steps they've taken to get here. People don't take that into consideration so much when viewing your timeline. It certainly wasn't easy for us but we have done things because of 'the rules' that we wouldn't have done otherwise. I got to live in another country with my children, we've travelled all over the world, we depleted our savings. The wait apart is so excruciating ....but it's been a heck of a ride! I feel we have a much better base for our relationship than many couples have. Sure some of that just comes with wisdom and time but there's a whole lot to be said about the experiences you've had as well. This wait is hell but I know just how lucky we really are. ;)

Have a lovely weekend April... may Monday bring us a whirlwind of happy news!!!

That is so very true, Kim! I know that, before I met Michael on that forum, I thought I'd never ever travel outside Europe. Though I have always loved travelling, I had sort of lost any taste for it, unless it was a country I knew well. Then, all of a sudden, I found myself booking a flight to Washington, DC, braving the 12-hour journey in order to meet a man I had never seen before... And that was the best thing I ever did in my whole life! Last year I spent two months (July and August) in the US with him, and in spite of the practical difficulties we had, it was a time of my life I will never forget. Living together was wonderful, even in a limited amount of space, and I can't but look forward to sharing our everyday life in our home in Alexandria, VA. And to think I used to be a very independent person, quite happy to live on her own :D ...

Good Sunday morning April.

I had a good long sleep in this morning after a long day in the hot 95 degree sun yesterday. We did a collection downtown for the 3-day in memory of a friend who died last year of breast cancer. She was just 39 and left her husband and 2 small boys. :( Keeps things a bit more in perspective, no? ;)

I do hope this is our week pip! I'd love to see them clear out the end of March / early April filers tomorrow.....and then have an explosion of mid April approvals..including ours...on Tuesday!

I really hope our turn will come at last... Luckily, I'm going to be away for a couple of days, so I won't be able to look at Igor's list on Tuesday morning, and spoil my whole day :D . It would be wonderful to get the approval now that Michael is coming.. He's staying for two weeks, so there'll be plenty of time for that. On the other hand, seeing February and early March filers still waiting is a tad disheartening.. Hopefully they'll clear out the backlog soon, and make all of us happy!
