Congrats on the interview Kim!!!!

Graham/Megan- I read your review on the London embassy- what was the mistake in your i-134?? Im a bit worried as my fiance has filled his out correctly on the 'do you intend to make specific contributions' question by writing 'K1 visa 'etc as the answer but my father in law has ticked the 'do not intend' box (he knows I have a lot of my own money so I guess he thought that was the right answer even though we instructed him otherwise) Do you think this may be an issue??

Thank goodness, I saw this today. Man, I could not imagine going to the embassy in Mexico, and seeing my SO coming out with a denied status because of this.

Thanks everybody for posting.

good afternoon folks...

About the London I134. Graham's experience was the very first I have heard of this in all my time here so my guess is he got the oddball CO that really didn't know what he was talking about .....just like our luck really. :P Hopefully it wont effect anyone else. Perhaps if you are concerned you can get in touch with the Embassy to confirm.

We are still flying pretty high. Russell booked his flight last night and we got our get-a-way for Boston sorted as well. I will confirm with the JP tonight about officiating at both of our ceremonies. The first scheduled for October 18th. :) I can't believe the time has finally come! Russell is like a little boy on Christmas morning all silly and giddy with excitment...it's adorable really.

Hey April Filers! Congrats to all of you who are moving right along. Just wondering if I could get some advice. We received our NOA1 on June 5, so hoping that the NOA2 arrives soon :) (Trying to be as prepared as possible) I had a question about the I134-Afadavit of Support. I have two jobs, one of them is part time and the other is as needed (but I'm a nurse so I'm always needed...lol) This actually just changed from full-time in August. But I still meet the financial requirments. Just wondering if I should fill out two forms, listing each job on each. Or just fill out one form, and have both employers fill out separate paper work.

Also, for those of you who already have your interviews scheduled just wondering what all is necessary to have in order to get a date. Like is it possible to get a date before the medical exam and vaccinations are complete. I'm guessing the I134 and police records are the most important right?

Okay, sorry to bother...just bored and thought I would get some of these questions out of the way.

hahahaha.... I hope it is normal to be nervous, because I haven't been anything but nervous since I originally sent in my paperwork.. Good Luck, I'm sure you'll be fine. It sounds like most of us April filers will have our interviews done by the end of October, finally!!

Suzy, congratulations on your interview! I guess it's normal to be a little nervous... you guys will be great!

Krystle, you fill out 1 I134 and include your total income. Every source of income just gets put on the same form. As far as the interview goes, it has everything to do with the Consulate..each one is very different in how they handle the next steps. So you're going to want to ask specifically to those who have gone or are going through Rio. Normally a package 3 (information packet) is sent out including all the forms you will need... you can find most of them online (normally better quality than you will get from the USEM anyway) and get t hem filled out ahead of time. They normally request that you wait until you have p3 to schedule your medical but all you really need is your A# that will be listed on your NOA2 (I797). Again, check with others who have gone through Rio to find out just how it's all handled there. Be sure when you go to your medical that you get a signed vaccination sheet to use at AOS. It will save you time when you are adjusting status later. ;)

Kristen, i'm sure it's going to be just fine. It's sad that we almost expect another bump.

My phone lines at home went completely dead last night which means no phone and, much worse, no internet! :o Noooooooooooo! As you know, I do a lot of my work from home not to mention it's basically my only connection to Russell. Just one more thing. Hopefully they will sort it today and i'll be back up and running. I suppose I can wash the rugs and furniture instead of working... I have this nesting instinct going on like an expecting mom just knowing Russell is coming home soon. Still have to figure out how i'm going to fit his things back in our closet.... I just dont know about that!

Since I got no responses to my thread in the Europe forum, I'll try to get one here.... Do you think it's worth sending another email to the US Consulate in Naples, since the two weeks they mentioned in their Autoreply are already up? I have heard they are not always up to the task as far as Packet 3 is concerned, and I'd like not to wait much longer to get it. Unfortunately, there are not many Italians here on VJ, and those who have already been through the interview have stopped visiting. I'd be grateful for some input, even from people from other countries.

I do not see the harm in an email, so fire away. :star:

However, I would be surprised if you got a response. It just seems like email is the easiest form of communication to ignore. Of course, it is also the easiest to respond to.

I am sure there has to be a phone number posted on VJ, or at least a post about where to get the number. I would also call and make a live person give you a line of BS.

Stay positive,

Brian

Thanks, Brian! Unfortunately, it seems email is by far the best way to get in touch with the Naples consulate... It is very hard to get them on the phone, and in any case they would need to send me Packet 3 by email. At the end of August I spoke with Giovanni, another Italian guy who has just moved to the US, and he told me to contact them by email. I'll send them another today, and flood them with emails until they send me those papers. It seems they are nice people anyway, except for this slowness, and that the interview is little more than a formality.

Hi There,

I would definitely E-Mail. It took him over two weeks to get the packet from the Embassy. I Emailed them and they finally Emailed me back and told me he could go and pick up the packet himself from the Embassy (which he did), it wasn't for about another week later that he received the actual packet in the mail (he lives in Santiago so I really don't understand the delay). Keep Emailing them - I am sure they will get back to you!

I guess our thread might pick up more steam once we start AOS procedures. Of course, I am saying that hoping that Kim goes first and that the procedure is pretty standard from local office to local office. :star:

It stinks having every national embassy being a little different, including needing different forms. Does anybody have a feeling for how much of a rubber stamp process the AOS will be?
