So, Republican sympathisers are so disenchanted with their own candidate they are attempting to influence the Democratic nominee? Or is it simply that whoever wins they Democratic nomination, they want to be able to say 'we wanted this nominee because this is the one we can beat? Or even more simply, the Republican's are fed up at being left out, they have to come up with a conspiracy theory to ensure they keep getting mentioned in the news?

I am not sure which is the more pathetic rationale.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

Its a way for Rush to make himself look important and relevant. He's neither.

None of the above. We don't care which one wins. Our chances are about the same either way. The goal is to keep the dems fighting as long as we can. Partly because it's fun to watch and partly because both are getting damaged without any repercussions to the reps.

How is Rush not relevant? He's a huge force in conservative media. His relevance can't be wished away.

He may be - but in terms of what he has to say... he's a narcissistic sycophant who adds nothing to the issues of the day.

Well, I don't see this 'fight' between the candidates as a problem or even damaging. I guess if you are a little sensitive you might find it all too much but the reality is that this is pretty tame stuff and I would be extremely surprised if the party can't get itself back into line once the dust settles and quite honestly, if the Dem party is that thin skinned and that disorganised that it can't then it should re consider it's position in politics.

I keep hearing how this has no adverse effect on McCain, but quite honestly think that's rubbish. McCain can't get airtime except when he makes himself look ludicrous or is late for an appointment with the president. His message is being drowned out - such as it is - and the Dems are getting all the attention. I guess Republican sympathisers have to make the best of what they have, but really, what they have is pretty unimpressive.

Just wait and see. There will be a lot of disappointed dems in November.

Being disappointed about not getting your first choice nominee is one thing, allowing that to influence you to vote for things you don't believe in is quite another. If this is the real state of American Politics, then that's just ridiculous. However, I don't believe it is - yet.

He's no where near as important as he thought he was in the early and mid-nineties, before Fox news existed and he actually got invited to the white house and on letterman
