So we got our RFE today in the mail. Apparently they are stating that we didn't send in the medical exam which we did. So, just wondering... are they going to cause us more trouble when we send it in and it was May of last year 2007? Seeing as they want one within a year. We did file in April though so it should be sufficient. All it states is that they need the medical exam, and it had to be by a civil surgeon on the approved list. We did it in London at the doctors office they make you go to for the K-1. And sent the supplement form that you can send. It doesn't state anything about anything specifically being missing like vaccinations or anything like that, just they are trying to basically say we didn't send one?

that's ###### up, I guess you'll have to do it again, if you want to find a civil surgeon authorized by USCIS near you go to their website and search for civil surgeons locator ;)

call a couple of them and ask about the price, I didn't have any vaccination records so the doctor had to inyect me all the vaccines again but it was just like $320 for everything.

Steph, Ellla, we are experiencing the same thing: waiting AP, EAD and so on.

My daughter is admitted by colleges, but she is considered as no-resident and has to pay international out-state tuition even though we live here more than one year and pay tax.

She can not go back Canada/study there and can not study here, can not get financial aid here, can not find a job here!

I want to give up and bring my husband and daughter back to Canada! Too much stress on me.

Sorry for my venting.

I felt the same way than you, I wanted to move back to Barcelona with my wife and son but when I felt like it wasn't going to work it's when I received my EAD and that gave me hope, you'll see everything will get better when you less expect it ;)

My case has been a nightmare though, the first time I applied which was in February, they returned everything because of a problem in the money order, then after that, there was a huge delay on my case because the post office returned a few letters they sent me and after that I got a RFE, it was 6 months to get my EAD and it sucked but now at least I can work.

Don't give up :)

I wish you the best of the best and I'll pray for you

Take care

i'm glad to see lots of approvals and maybe some of the members in this thread has moved on and are busy job hunting....just want an opinion from you guys, my AOS was last touched on June 12 couple of days after we sent back the RFE. EAD and AP are already approved but AOS wasn't touched after that. No letter stating transfer to CSC so im guessing we're being processed in NBC. It's been 2 months (60 days) since the last touch. Should I call them or just wait another month? I have this feeling that maybe they lost it, or it got buried under new files or whatever lame excuse they can come up with. Should I call or should I wait????

thanks....

Hello.....i think i had the same problem you are having now.....I send everything in march 27 of 2008 and i did my medical examination in brazil march 2007 but i think they lost min or they did not accept because is been exactly one year,,....i suggest you to go a head and do everything again...that's what i did because i don't wanna this process to take more time because i am already not work for months just waiting...the only thing you should remeber is that there is new vaccination that they are asking after aug first like for HPV if you are younger than 26 years old and that cost me 131 dollares...soh....good luck for you...i hope you find that best way to go troutgh this....

Well I'd say it hasn't been so long, not every case is transfered to California, I've seen that green cards that require an interview take up to 6 months, some of them even a year, check the processing times at uscis.gov so you can have an idea.

Actually you don't lose anything if you just call USCIS and ask them when is your priority date for your adjustment of status application, they'll give you an estimate date.

Good Luck

Well you just really have to be patient and wait. Just relax, the letters will come (just be glad you have your EAD and can work).

And even if you schedule an infopass appointment, the AOS priority dates stretch as far back as last July so they won't be able to tell you much.

I called USCIS today and put in service request for my EAD again. They confirmed that I had no RFE, so I really don’t know why it is taking so long. I’m supposed to receive a letter within the next 30 days about the status of my case. I hope it’s not going to be: “received and pending” only. I also asked about my I-485, but it’s still in NBC and they just told me to wait. I haven’t had a touch on my AOS since May 16th, so before the biometrics!

We were told we could not do a service request until thirty days after the 75 day processing time. Our first NOA is 7 days different. Did they give you a hard time?

Nope, they were actually very nice. I talked to the first super nice lady, but her system was down and she couldn't put the request for me, so she transferred me to another customer representative with a really strong accent, I had to listen really carefully to what she was saying, but none of them gave me hard time at all. And I didn't have to wait forever on the phone to talk to somebody either. From what they told me I assumed that you can put service request after 75 days from your Notice date.

I'm thinking they're going to send you an interview letter rather than an EAD card.

I would't mind an interview letter at all.... But I want my EAD as well, so I can start working finally! But since my case is still in Missouri I don't think I will be getting my interview letter anytime soon :(
