So, I went on the USCIS website to check and see if we had been touched again today. I didn't receive any notices from them, but I clicked on it to see if there was a status update as it was touched again today. Instead of saying it's now pending at the service center to which it was sent, it says that they've sent us an RFE. Wonderful! Probably for something completely ridiculous! Anyone know how long it normally takes to receive an RFE after it's sent?

About a week max.

You didn't get an email, just an update on the site?

Odd that they'd send you an RFE so late after your EAD and all that. I'm guessing it's something they lost or something they're too lazy to verify with your other documents

I called the UCIS to ask about her EAP and the first lady was helpful, but she would not do the service request because my wife had to do it personally. I called my wife at home and asked her to call. She called, but they were not helpful at all. The first guy gave her some blow off answers. I asked her to call agian and ask them to please do a service request why the EAP had not but given yet. The first lady confirmed hat after 75th day, it was considered past due. Well, the third person siad to call back on the 8th of August and ask then. It is so frustrating. My wife is not fluent in the English language and had a hard time understanding them and just did not have understanding of the English language to hold them to task. We both are going to call in the morning, hopefully, get them to do the service request.

Yeah. I am signed up for email updates or whatever. I got an email on Monday saying that it was pending at the service center, which is the THIRD time i've received that same email. So I've been checking each day. I didn't get any emails today from them but I clicked on it and it says we have an RFE. The only thing I can think of is that on the support documents I had just started a new job and I sent them a letter from my employer stating how much I was going to make (Which was over the amount needed) but I was starting right about the same time we sent out the paperwork, so I didn't have any pay stubs or anything. But, if it were that I would think they would have sent an RFE before they even transferred it to CSC. How annoying. Are you able to call them and find out what it's for so you can get it ready before you even get the notice in the mail?

Nah, you have to wait til you get it. I'd just prep that stuff for now and get it ready. If it's not that then it'll be something easy that you just have to photocopy.

Midicat,

So sorry to hear that. I agree with Heliosphan, its very odd that they would send an RFE after you have received the EAD. I havent heard of that yet.

But dont worry maybe its just a mistake. All the best!!

that sucks, I'd say the time depends on the postal service to deliver but definitely not more than a week, hopefully it's nothing really serious.

Good luck

Has anyone ever heard of them clicking the wrong thing? I Mean i'm sure they have buttons or something they click when they do status updates. Maybe they meant to click the "Approved" And not the "RFE" button :)... Wishful thinking? I'm still kind of ticked that I didn't get an email though!

I haven't seen anyone say they got an RFE this far through the process either. We should be getting approved right now to be honest as there are quite a few people that filed later than us that are already getting approved. We were put on the backburner on the K-1 as well.

Good thing is, My Husband starts his first US job today! Well an Orientation type thing. So hope that all goes well!
