Just got this email update from USCIS:

"Application Type: I765 , APPLICATION FOR EMPLOYMENT AUTHORIZATION

Current Status: Card production ordered.

On July 14, 2008, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you."

Sweet!!! It's been about 6 weeks since they rec'd our RFE response.

Actually, can anyone tell us how the EAD works exactly? My wife still needs a Social Security number. Is that issued with the card or do we have to apply for it or what?

Just go to your local SS office www.socialsecurity.gov/locator/ and apply for a card, they will issue you a number within 3 to 4 business days and send you the card in the mail. Make sure you bring your EAD letter and marriage certificate if you want to use your married name. You will need the SS number to apply for a job, open a bank account, etc, as this is part of your legal identity in the US. Good Luck.

Hello all... :secret:

I notice that some April filers already had they "welcome letter", and few (or less) have a "interview letter".

I remember once to read in some post that does not really matter if you are transfered or not because the approval for AOS happen almost in the same time...

Well, that is not so true...

someone that have NOA the same week I had is already approved , but I don't even have a interview letter

...and when, sometime in the future, I receive my letter, for sure will not be in the next month...so...

Anyways...the wait time between one applicant and other become bigger also depending on your Local Office.

My for example, Seattle-WA...the last interview appointment (according with the imigration timelines) was for a applicant who filed in November and their interview will be next month!!!!

Plus, all records about Seattle in visajourney just show 1(one) transfer for California!!!

So, I think that now (after EAD and AP approved) is the time when people who are waiting AOS should select (in the imigration timeline) the Local Office for to have an idea about your case. Is what I will do...

but for sure I will continue checking my friends from April filers and I will be happy anytime one of them have some good news.

CONGRATULATIONS to everyone who has had some sort of approval (EAD, GC, etc)!

I'm feeling very optimistic about our application now - despite getting an RFE and taking a whole month to answer it (we received it a day before going on a 2-week holiday and then we procrastinated another 2 weeks before sending it off. We just didn't have the energy to deal with it at the time).

Good luck to the rest of us (especially those who didn't get RFE's). I'm hoping we aren't pushed back by a month due to the RFE, but if we are then I guess so be it. I'm just really glad to see things are moving rather fast. I hope we have as much good Green Card karma!

received AP yesterday and today we received our 3rd "EAD card production ordered" from CRIS....hmmm.... but no physical card yet....c'mon USCIS, pls send it over

$1010 is for all 3 : EAD (work authorization permit), AP (travel document) and AOS ( green card).

Finally! got mail from CRIS - AP approval notice sent dated July 12 2008. Where is the EAD though
