I wish  ... we will get rid of the other car since he won't be here for 1+ year. The 2 dogs are the reason we need a bigger car (besides I am like 4' 11" tiny and the thought of driving a BIG SUV is so appealing  )

Parul and Steph,

I was thinking I'd contribute into the topic :D

We all seem to be in the same boat

My husband and I have been working international for the last 3 years (before coming here). We love travel and it pays well. Sacrifise had to be made for me to be able to come to the U.S. We both turned down contracts overseas and came here to finish the process.

Well, besides the fact that we had to move from 2 incomes to 1 with U.S. cost of living, me being bored out of my mind (feeling so useless at the moment) I realised that once I am a permanent resident - it's not the end of the story. Should have done my "homework" better, I guess my own fault but it wouldn't change a thing either way.

I can't just come and go to move on with my career, there will be re-entry permits involved and so on. What a pain in the ***

Michael turned down job overseas again because of me, until I am back on my feet at least and it's just driving me crazy.

They first wouldn't let me in and now they are not letting me out!!! While all I wanted was to be able to come home with my husband to spend holidays, visit family etc.

I spent a couple of hours going off about this last night and drove him crazy

BTW I honestly think people like Parul (wives of US soldiers active duty) should have benefits, this would at least be fair!!!

Hey vika,

the change from 2 incomes to 1 income is tough specially when you are doing so well. I just keep telling myself - So I have enjoyed a great career but now family is a priority and this is not the end anyways. We will all get good jobs and the satisfaction of working again and will be so much better coz we will not be alone either.

Thanks for the support too, its the thought that counts. I have benefits - people like you who understand and make it easier (F)

Hey steph0814

I have a labrador mix male that Daniel found under a run down car chewing on a dead chicken.. He's grown up to be a handsome dog though  and a 5 month old German Shephard and Akita mix that we adopted from a shelter and she's the most adorable puppy. She loves to sleep on the bed with me when Daniel gets up to go work in the morning.. I couldn't live without them either. They bring so much joy to us and keep me busy all day too.

What kind do you have??

Its such a pain going car hunting with Daniel... He took me to 10 car dealers y'day and we will do the same today.. I wish he would like a car already..

Guess, better get ready to go - he's giving me the look

Hi, to kill time, I tried creating table from VJ timeline.

I'm an engineer, but from different field, so please forgive my clumsy work

If I can paste spreadsheet here, it's much easier, but I couldn't find the way... imported data using Web query that I've never used before :innocent: , formatted/sorted by Excel macro, exported as text... long way, spent all day

Hope I include everyone... if not, I will update.... someday :hehe:

Hi, to kill time, I tried creating table from VJ timeline.

I'm an engineer, but from different field, so please forgive my clumsy work

If I can paste spreadsheet here, it's much easier, but I couldn't find the way... imported data using Web query that I've never used before :innocent: , formatted/sorted by Excel macro, exported as text... long way, spent all day

Hope I include everyone... if not, I will update.... someday :hehe:
