AOS FILERS - April 2008

We got married on May 9. Right now our funds are severely depleted, especially with the wedding costs. Do we need to be in a huge hurry to file for AOS? I would like to wait until June or July. Also, would youall recommend having a local agent do all the paperwork?

I don't think you have to hurry to file AOS. The later you file though, the later you'll get your EAD to be able to work and drive. I wish we filed a bit earlier to not have problems with getting a driver's license now .

You don't need to hire anyone to file the paperwork, either. It's super easy unless you have special circumstances!

Hello everyone. Just got an email from Cris to say my AOS has been transferred to CSC. I guess i don't have to worry about putting together an interview package.

Like Maria said, it's pretty straight forward unless you're the odd one out, like me

My husband and I travel a lot, so we chose to get an attorney back when we filed I-129F. He gave us a good discount as returning customers for AOS so we decided to stick with him. Saves us a lot of hassle really, so if you decide to turn to a lawyer's services I could give you a name. He doesn't charge as much as most do and you always deal with him directly.

No real hurry to file, your status is protected as you're now married. I filed 3 months after the wedding. The only bad thing for us was the longer we were putting it off the longer I have to wait on my EAD and sit around with no 2nd income.

I have been trying all morning. I thought it was my computer 'cause I updated my virus protection software.

Glad to know its not. There better be some touches and movin' and shakin' after its been down..

I have been login to uscis this morning and there is no problem at all. By the way, I did my biometrics before yesterday on 05/20/2008 and my I-485 and I-765 were touched yesterday 05/21/2008.

i checked my case online this morning and it was down, but i just checked it and it is back up again.

no touches or anything for me today.

quick question, i noticed that a lot of k-1ers get transferred to CSC.

i am a k-3er...how likely is it that i will get transferred there as well?

as far as i can tell, if you get transferred to CSC you pretty much get approved without an interview, correct?
