Hey there everybody!!!

So today I went to this InfoPass thing, I feel so frustrated, the Post Office has returned 2 letters that USCIS has sent me so I had an InfoPass appointment this morning to check if they had my correct mailing address.

The immigration officer was an old lady and she was very nice actually, from what I've heard I thought she would of been like a pain of the ### but she was so polite and helped me so much with my problem.

I wish the best of the luck for everybody who filed in April!!!

April 15th, 2008 - Sent envelope with I-130, I-485 and I-765

May 2nd, 2008 - Got notice for Biometrics Appoinment

May 5th, 2008 - Got an e-mail that says the US Postal Service returned a letter regarding I-765

May 7th, 2008 - Biometrics Appointment

May 14th, 2008 - Got another e-mail that says US Postal Service returned 2 letters regarding I-485 and I-130

May 15th, 2008 - Attended InfoPass appointment

DOES ANYBODY HAVE AN IDEA OF WHAT THOSE RETURNED LETTERS COULD OF BEEN?, I'M SO CURIOUS AND I ALWAYS WONDER WHAT THOSE 3 LETTERS WERE, SO FROM YOUR EXPERIENCE GUYS DID YOU ALSO RECEIVED A LETTER FOR EACH APPLICATION AND ALSO THE BIOMETRICS NOTICE?

THANKS SO MUCH FOR YOUR HELP!!!

Hi,

It looks as if from your timeline you never received your Notice of Actions for each application. I am guessing that is what it may be.

It may be those, as you have already received your Biometrics letter with the appointment date.

It was probably your three Notice of Action letters that they mailed out to you to let you know your petitions have been received and will be processed... since you already had your bio appt, there is probably no real need to have those letters except to know your case numbers...

IMO, you will need these NOA's, as they are your evidence that you are maintaining legal status in the US, i.e. you are "pending Adjustment of Status". Without them, your legal status expires when your I-94 expires, which means that beyond the I-94 date, you're out of status (i.e. illegal) and you need the NOA's to show you're in status.

Unless you are a K-1 then you stay in limbo (after the 90 days) till you file AOS. I know that doesn't apply to these people, I just don't want a K-1 to get confused.

Right, apologies for not clarifying further. From Asolana's timeline, I deduced that he is not here on a K-1 or K-3, since he filed I-130 and AOS concurrently. Therefore, after the expiration of his I-94 (whenever that happens), he is in limbo without the NOA's. This does not apply to K-1 or K-3.

I got an RFE but it didn't affect my AP and EAD online, just AOS, so it doesn't sound like that's it. I'm still guessing it's a transfer. :D:thumbs:
