A good news for me and my daughter.

My daughter and I had interview today. My daughter' and my interview time were 1 hour difference, but we were called in at the same time. We were approved!

It was painless and no stress at all.

The lady officer just went through the information which we put in the application and petition, my occupation (I was holding a working visa and sponsor myself and my daughter), my daughter's school, asked my husband about my parents' name, etc. She did not ask our marriage cert. even. We offered her if you need some pictures and any evidence of our relationship, she said "yes, please".

She then told us, you got approved and welcome to the America. We thanked her and then asked her if we can get I-1551 since I need to have oversea business travel, she said no problem. (My boss sent me to Canada for a business meeting tomorrow, I can go Canada now!)

I think she already had an idea if she approved our case before the interview.

Everyone who is still waiting, do not worry, you will be fine. Good news is coming to you soon.

Thanks you all

Congratulations!

You're right, they tend to decide beforehand if you're approved or not. The interview itself is a formality most of the time.

She didn't ask you any questions about your relationship? Did you submit most of your evidence with the I-130?

Thank you, Heliosphan

No, she did not ask us any questions about our relationship. I did sent copies of our marriage cert. and joint credit card information, the new car title with our names on, that's it.

But she asked us where we met, and then took our EAD and AP away.

Hi Everyone! Its me and I guess I am back on here for a bit. Feeling quite discouraged at the moment, I am worried i wont get my papers in time for my family reunion. I figured that 9 months would be enough time. But man....Sorry for the venting i have tried VERY hard to be patient but I am almost at a breaking point.

I havent seen my family in 15 yrs, and now because of an overstay (and please dont judge, you don't know what I have gone through) i wont be able to go till i have the Green Card (or stamp). SO SAD about all this. especially since 2 of the RFE's weren't even necassary according to thier (USCIS) instructions.... :(

I think you still can ask expedite your AP. Talk to THE HIGHER LEVEL person in USCIS.

YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

Today was our interview at the local office and it went really well, the lady was very polite and nice and she approved my GC right away, it was very simple, she just asked us where we met and when we started living together and stuff like that, very fast, like 10 minutes and then all of a sudden she asked me if she could see my EAD and I gave it to her and she said, ok so you won't need this anymore so I'll keep it for you, what I'm gonna do is order production of your green card for 2 years and she put a provisional stamp on my passport, I am so happy that now I can go to Spain and visit my family.

Take care everyone

Congrats!

lots of interviews this week!

Hello everyone...

I don't follow this forum too closely....just kind of waiting for things to happen to my wife's case. She and her 2 kids got both their EADs and APs rather quickly and nothing had happened since then. No touches, no change on the status page at all. I made an infopass appointment just this past weekend and today...voila....3 appointment letters. Each one is 30 mins apart but I hope they call us in all together at one time as I've read has happened to others. Guess I'll cancel the Infopass appointment.

The USCIS status page stills show no changes...

On April 17, 2008, we received this I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS, and mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case. I think you still can ask expedite your AP. Talk to THE HIGHER LEVEL person in USCIS.

If a person has overstayed her visa for even one day, they shouldn't leave the country untill they get GC in hand, not even with AP because they might not be allowed to come back for 3 or 10 years (depending on how long they overstayed).

Steph, nobody here is going to judge you, I totally understand what you are going through, my sister's wedding is in December in my homecoutry and it looks like I won't be able to go, because I am affraid to leave the country without my GC, too. I haven't seen my familly in over 2 years and my visa also expired before I sent in my AOS package. :(

Received this email from CRIS today.

Application Type: I765, APPLICATION FOR EMPLOYMENT AUTHORIZATION

Current Status: Approval notice sent.

On September 24, 2008, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I765 APPLICATION FOR EMPLOYMENT AUTHORIZATION. Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service.

I thought they were sending the card? Is this in addition to the card? I was really hoping we would get the EAD card by today, so we could to the SSN office. I hope we do not have to wait thirty days to get the card.
