The values and hypocrisies of raising children in this country are a major part of the problem of increasing pathological violence perpetuated by children.

Easy access to firearms is also an easy part of the problem, that trickles down from top to bottom very efficiently here. Add to that the fast food culture and voilà...

We cannot kid ourselves... most of the contributions stated above in most posts actually create part of the equations that drive certain kids to do stupid things and others to do psychotic acts while others come out completely normal.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

Do the Liberals you meet abroad have armbands and T-Shirts denoting them as such?

Yes how did you guess..

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

...which you believe that crime is a result of liberal parenting.

No. The point was actually off topic. I was just joking on you that it was a liberal paper posting the story in an ha ha look at America kind of way.

Funny American liberals...those liberal Australians must be saying.

liberals down under are really conservatives :P

Well 'I' do find people with left wing views abroad are not really a fan of America. I am constantly defending the US in many battles with them. The easiest way to get into an argument when I meet a liberal abroad is to say I live in America. It goes downhill from there. Especially in Europe.

Gee, I don't know...America's a pretty big and diverse place. Unless you're thinking that both Bush and Hollywood equally represent America, you probably should ask them to clarify just what it is they are critical about.

Guns have also been used as a scapegoat in America. They are not the cause of violence or mass shootings by kids.

They are a scapegoat - but they sure as hell have a knack for turning depression suicide into murder-suicide.

Funny... I guess it all depends on how you define America and how you reconcile what is not publicized on this side of both ponds for being plainly... un-American.

At least when I discuss politics and other issues with non-Americans most 'liberals' (read: normal folks) end up agreeing that not everyone in the USA is crazy, psychotic, overmedicated, or plainly ignorant enough to vote for people like GWB.

Movies like Michael Moores are usually based on bashing republicans here but are used to bash America overseas. I remember sitting in the movie theater when Fahrenheit 9/11 was over and seeing everyone cheer when the movies was over. The first comment I heard was what a bunch of dumb cunts Americans are. Like it or not you are all grouped in the same category overseas. Therefore when you have someone for example dissing redneck, people abroad view this as ha ha Americans are dumb. No one knows or cares about the left/right politics abroad so everyone is simply grouped together. That is the reality. A reality many in the media forget when ridiculing one another and that is seen overseas.

I'm not claiming its a cause but rather a facilitator. However, the gun does kill by definition.

Yep. Depending on who you ask and how they look at things, we're the home of:

Gay Parades and KKK Marches,

Hollywood and Televangelists,

McDonald's and Weight Watchers,

Disneyland and the Grand Canyon,

Rock n Roll and Country music,

Mark Twain and William F. Buckley.

...and it's all the liberal American's fault. Thanks, Michael Moore...dumbazz.

If someone like Michael Moore is incapable of getting Americans to think for themselves then perhaps we deserve the mistreatment he criticizes in his documentaries.

Michael Moore gets far too much of the blame IMO.

He needs somebody to blame for why foreigners don't like us and Moore's a pretty big target.

I blame Bill O'Reilly and Rush Limbaugh. Actually I don't. Those guys are just idiots.

You think O'Reilly is an idiot? (Serious question.)
